The world warped around Mu Lingxi and her friends, placing them in a short state of disorientation. By the time the group recovered from their light-headedness, they were already standing in a completely different world.

They were now away from the greenery of the Enchanted Forest. The place before them is a great contrast from where they originally came from.

What lies ahead of them was an endless sea of yellow sand. It was an empty and vast desert!

"Aren't we going to Rhapsody Swamp? Why are we teleported to a desert instead??? Shouldn't we suppose to be teleported directly to our destination?"

Long Yue asked aloud but his question is more likely to be directed to Fan Lei since he is the one who boasted a wide knowledge among them.

"I'm not sure either but if the guardian tree teleported us here then the Rhapsody Swamp must be somewhere around us."

"Are you kidding me??? A swamp within a desert land???? Is there even such a place where desert and swamp meet each other???"

This time it was Mu Lingxi who asked in bewilderment. Whenever she was about to say to herself that she was finally coming in terms of knowing this new world, this world will give her another set of inconceivable things."

"MEOW"

[Why not??? As I've told you before, nothing is impossible. Even the word itself says "I'm possible". Besides, haven't you heard the story about how Romeo and Juliet fell in love with each other and remained together despite the odds being against their favor? It was just the same as what was happening now]

"How did Romeo and Juliet falling in love at each other be the same as our situation right now? The two does not have anything to do with it"

"MEOW"

[It has anything to do with it. Say, no matter how inconceivable it was, there is nothing wrong with a desert and a swamp to come and meet each other. That is what you called fate! In a  strange world like this, the two might have come in contact with one another against all odds!]

"Err... I think you've got some lose wirings in your brain circuit, nowadays, Ja.n.u.s. You are now even starting to incorporate romance into even small details like this. Just how romantically frustrated have you been feeling these past few days????"

"MEOW"

[Shut up. You won't understand it even if it tries to explain it to you. For someone without even a single romantic cell in their bones, even if I put an effort and personal try explaining it to you for  143 days straight, you won't get it.]

While the master and cat duo was bickering on their mental link, Fan Lei, on the other hand, pondered for a moment before suggesting an idea.

"Let us just first walk around the area and see what we can do. Maybe we could find some clues on our way."

And so the group went on like that.

It was not even ten minutes since they arrived at the desert-like place but they were already profusely sweating all over their body.

The sun was also cruelly toasting their melanin as it s.h.i.+nes majestically up in the bright sky. There is nowhere to take shelter and all they can do is to endure the heat.

Even the sands beneath their feet were radiating heat that they can clearly feel it as they took each step.

Just a few more meters of walking and the group was already feeling exhausted to the point even lifting their feet was hard for them.

There was simply nothing that can be found within the arid desert aside from sand and another pile of yellow sand!

In less than two hours of walking, Mu Lingxi and the rest of her friends were already feeling a little light-headed due to dehydration. Their lips were also starting to crack from dryness.

In fact, even Ja.n.u.s was not exempted!

"MEOW"

[Something is amiss here…]

Ja.n.u.s warned his master when he noticed some anomaly.

Given his nature, putting aside walking for an entire day in a desert, his stamina should not have any abnormalities even if he were to walk for a few more days straight.

It was unthinkable for him to become dehydrated and exhausted just after a short two-hour journey.

Not to mention the fact that he was not even walking right now!

Since the place is relatively calmer and there is no sign of danger yet, Mu Lingxi chose to carry him first.

Thus, Ja.n.u.s was saved from walking at the smoldering hot desert since he was being carried by his master in his arms.

When Mu Lingxi got the warning from her cat, Ja.n.u.s, the frown between her eyebrows formed a tight-knit.

"It seemed like this is really no ordinary desert."

She said as she scans the area around her once more.

"Hey, look! There are footprints over there."

Chan Gu shouted as he saw some traces of human footprints amidst the sand.

"Let's head over to take a look."

Long Fuzi ushered his friends as he leads the way. They follow the trace left by the footprints and not long ago, they discovered a group of warlocks ahead of them.

The group ahead of them had their wands on their hands and where casting spells one after another which seemed to suggest that they were battling with some other ent.i.ty.

All of them were dressed in a mage coat but its design was entirely different from what Mu Lingxi and the rest of them were wearing.

It only means one thing. They are student warlocks from different School of Magic!

Long Fuzi put his finger over his lips to signal his friends to keep their silence and gesture them to crouch and keep themselves down as much as possible.

They are planning to observe the situation first.

Could it be that they were also here for a mission?

But what are they doing over there????

Taking a closer look, the other group has five young men in total. Their faces were ghastly pale, and their lips were cracked.

They looked like they were in a much more terrible state than their group. It seemed that they had been here in the desert longer than Mu Lingxi's group.

The ent.i.ty that they were battling against was a man that is made out of sands. It had no distinctive features like face or clothes. Just a pile of sand shaped like a human.

No matter how the group tried to disintegrate the human sand, it will just reform itself.

It was precisely due to this reason that despite their numerical advantage, the group of five warlocks was still facing trouble taking it down.

Knowing that they could acquire important intelligence from the group ahead of them, Mu Lingxi and the others whipped out each of their wands, as they cast their spell towards the sandman.

But the sandman was capable of countering most of the spells thrown to him. I was even capable of utilizing the sand around them to deal with its opponent.

Out of the magic spells, thrown to the sandman, it was Mu Lingxi's water spell that successfully defeated it.

As soon as a water attribute spell land on its body, the sandman congeals before it started to fall apart.

It crumbled into a pile of yellow sand on the ground!

Since they were fighting with a sandman, Mu Lingxi thought that the best way to counter it is water.

'This is how spider man defeated sandman before in the movie. When sandman got too wet, he congeals and falls apart into pieces'

Mu Lingxi thought to herself.

"Thank you for saving our lives!"

Seeing that it was another group of warlocks that had defeated the sandman, that they had been struggling to defeat, the other group heaved a sigh of relief before bowing respectfully to Mu Lingxi and her friends.

Seeing the haggard faces of the young warlocks before them, it was apparent to Mu Lingxi's group that they had been in there for at least several hours.

"May I ask from which school of magic are you from?"

Long Fuzi asked politely. Since only he and Long Yue are the old students in the group, it was only them as well who knew that there are lots of other schools of magic aside from Magus Academia.

"We are from Plufwarts Academy of Spell."

One of the young warlocks replied as he extended his arm for a handshake
