SORCERESS 101 253 School Records

With Fan Lei serving as their guide, it did not take long for them to reach the section where the student records were being kept.

The books in this part of the library looked much older than the rest of the books displayed at the other sections of the library.

Some books even have thick dust cloaking on its cover. This was enough to show how long those books were being kept here in the far end corner of the library without anyone checking them out.

The section where the student records were being kept is obviously abandoned for quite some time now. No students were even visiting this area.

Only the three of them were standing between the high wooden bookshelves holding the books in place.

Knowing that the person that they were looking for is someone who had been in Magus Academia for almost more than 20 years ago, they decided to start looking from there.

They took all the school records about the students of Magus Academia for the past 20 years.

The moment they put all of the books down to the table, a thick layer of dust clouded in the air.

"Cough! Cough!"

The three cough out the portion of the dust that they have inhaled. They put their hands in front of their faces to cover their nose, while the other hand fan the cloud of dust away.

When the cloud of dust finally subsided, each of them took student records to read and check it manually.

They tried to look for the sorceress named, Yu Yan. For she is the only lead that they could use to connect with the apprentice necromancer.

Mu Lingxi and her friends tried looking for Yu Yan's name among the school records of the sorceresses that enrolled 20 years ago and much later than that.

Since the incident in the Long Kingdom happened 18 years ago, then Yu Yan must have been in Magus Academia a few years earlier than that.

They carefully checked each of the sorceress names listed on the school records. Without them even realizing it, another four hours had pa.s.sed already.

But so far, they haven't seen anything about the sorceress named, Yu Yan in the school records.

"She must be recorded somewhere. Just keep searching. We will eventually find it. Just be patient."

Mu Lingxi said to the two of her friends when she noticed that they were already starting to lose their patience on what they were doing.

Mu Lingxi, on the other hand, was serious about what she was doing. She carefully checked each of the names listed on the school records one by one. Making sure that she never missed a single one.

Her eyes never left the pages of books as she tried to read all of the students' names recorded in the book.

They have already check many student records starting from 20 years ago, until to those school records who were older than the latter. But they still don't get any positive results.

There is not even a single detail about the sorceress named, Yu yan. Mu Lingxi even started checking the records for those sorceresses who show exceptional talent in Elixir Making.

Mu Ruochen had mentioned before that her mother used to be a famed healer because of her healing brew. Most likely she was also good at Elixir Making.

It seemed that Mu Lingxi's apt.i.tude in Elixir Making is not just for a show. It was a talent running in her blood that she must have inherited from her mother.

"Su Yan, are you sure that the Clan Head gave you the right name???"

Fan Lei asked for who knows how many times already.

"It's Yu Yan. I'm sure of it."

There is no way she will get the wrong name. It was her mother after all. But although she was sure about the name that she had in her memory, part of her was already starting to doubt if they might really see the record of her mother among the school record.

They have been looking for the records for almost the entire night already.y But they haven't got any result yet.

The other students who were reading at the other sections of the library were already starting to leave one after another. The people inside the library are getting more spa.r.s.e as time goes by.

It did not take long for all of the students to return to their dormitory. Leaving only Mu Lingxi's group inside the school library that night.

"Are you sure she is from Magus Academia???? What if she used to study at a different school of magic??"

Yun Xue suggested when they have almost done checking all of the school records only to find nothing.

There is no student profile under that sorceress Yu Yan. If the other party is really a sorceress just like what their friend was insisting, then maybe she is not from Magus Academia

That is why they cannot find her record despite searching all night.

"No, she must be from Magus Academia as well, I'm certain about it. That is how she was able to get to know the apprentice necromancer. Besides, she also came back here at Magus Academia 18 years ago. So she must have records somewhere here."

"Not if someone intentionally hides it???"

Fan Lei suggested another theory.

What he said is not entirely impossible. Considering that the records of the sorceress named Yu Yan could very much likely to lead to with whereabouts of the apprentice necromancer.

There is a high chance that the apprentice necromancer itself purposely hide her record a long time ago now. To avoid his whereabouts being leaked to anyone.

If that was really the case, does it mean that they reach another dead-end here??

While the group of three was busy contemplating what they should do next, another figure approached them from their back.

When Mu Lingxi and her friends sense that someone was walking towards their direction, they immediately turned to their back to check who it was.

When they saw who is the other party, they were surprised.

They did not expect to meet Schoolmaster Yin in the middle of the night roaming in the school library.

"Its already late, what are you guys still doing here???"

Schoolmaster Yin asked with his usual calm voice.

"Schoolmaster Yin..."

The three immediately stood straight to greet the other party respectfully.

"We are just doing some research for tomorrow's lesson."

Fan Lei said to answer Schoolmaster Yin's question.

'I'm glad to see diligent students like you guys. But it is also not a good thing that you guys are depriving yourself of sleep. You must not overwork yourselves. It is already late yet here you are still studying... Haaayyy... Rest now... You can continue reading them tomorrow. Those books won't runaway here anyway."

Schoolmaster Yin advised his students kindly.

"Yes, Schoolmaster Yin. We will be taking our leave then now.

After they said that, they hurriedly left the place but not before returning all the books that they have messed up on the floor.

When the three warlocks were gone, Schoolmaster Yin walked towards the shelves where they put the books back.

He checked what are the books that the three warlocks had been reading in this late of the night. When he saw that it was the old student records that dated back from 20 years and later, a tight-knit frowned appeared in between his eyebrows

'Who is their teacher??? Is it Teacher Jian again asking his students to study history??? Hayyy.. I've already told him to stop wasting the student's time to those activities eh?? Why is he making his students study so late at night just to research this kind of measly thing???"

Poor Teacher Jian being accused over something that he had never done.

When Mu Lingxi and her other two friends returned their dorm, Chan Gu, as well as the two Long brothers were already waiting for them outside.

When they saw three of their friends returning together to their dorm all at the same time, they were surprised.

"Hey, did the three of you had a boy's night out without inviting us???'

Chan Gu said with a pout in his lips. That is what he gets from hanging out with Long Yue often. He is also starting to get childish mannerisms.

"We came from the library to check for the school records.."

Fan Lei said without hiding anything."

"You already checked the records for yourself??? What happened??"

"Nothing. There is no record of any sorceress named Yun Yan in the school records. We had already checked all of them."

Yun Xue said with a frown. It was obvious that he also did not like the result of their findings.

"It seemed that someone purposely hides the records. Probably it was the apprentice necromancer itself who du that."

Fan Lei shared his suspicion to his friends

"What are we going to do now?? Is this another dead end??"

Long Yue asked despondently as he thought about his cat, Luna.

Mu Lingxi said with confidence.
