"Ren, I can still walk." Tsubaki looked up to her husband in dissatisfaction.

"No, love." Ren chuckled. "You didn't allow me to carry you at the hospital earlier. Now that we've arrived, there's no a wheelchair to help you."

"Like I said, I can still walk." Her face flushed red.

"No can do my dear wife." Ren adamantly refused her.

Tsubaki could see that the maids who were welcoming their arrival smiling mischievously. Pursing her lips in a tight line, she could only relent to her husband's stubbornness.

"Okay, you win." Tsubaki pouted while opening her arms wide.

Ren laughed in amus.e.m.e.nt. He quickly bent down and carried his wife out of the car. Two familiar footsteps approached them from behind. Ren turned around while Tsubaki hooking her arms around his neck.

"Grandma... Old Yuuzo..." Tsubaki smiled, her brows furrowed seeing their anxious looks.

"My dear child... I've heard about it. Are you okay?" Old Madam Fuse looked so worried, forming guilt in Tsubaki's heart.

"I'm fine, grandma. It's just a sprain." Tsubaki smiled, trying to ease the old lady's heart.

"Both of you just go upstairs and have a rest." Old Madam Fuse quickly urged them to go inside. "The maids would bring your dinner soon."

"Alright, grandma." Ren noted. Tightening his hold on her pet.i.te body, he walked inside the old house and immediately going upstairs. A maid followed them from behind while Hibiki brought Ren's things.

The maid helped opening the door before being dismissed. Hibiki put the briefcase and doc.u.ments on the table.

"Contact me if it's necessary." Ren had given Hibiki the instruction to a.s.sist Akas.h.i.+ in their investigation.

"Yes, President Fuse." Hibiki bowed. "And get well soon, madam."

"Thank you." Tsubaki smiled. Hibiki was an excellent a.s.sistant. It's good for Ren to have a loyal and capable subordinate like him.

Hibiki closed the door, giving privacy to the husband and wife. Tsubaki was randomly staring at the door when she sensed a gaze landed on her. She looked up and saw her husband's darkened gaze.

"Why? What's wrong?"

"Can't you not smile to another man like that?" Ren released a helpless smile.

Tsubaki was baffled with the sudden request before she bursted into a fit of giggle. Eyes twinkling bright, she smiled mischievously to Ren.

"I think I smell something sour, it is vinegar?"

Ren laughed hearing her response. He carefully placed Tsubaki on the soft bed. He sat on the floor, gently touching her sprained ankle.

"Does it still hurt a lot?" Every time he looked at the bandaged feet, he would feel terrible deep inside his bones.

"It doesn't hurt much." Tsubaki smiled. " Thanks to my husband's utmost care."

Ren inevitably smiled too. He looked up and saw her radiant face. He knew she didn't want him to continue feeling guilty but he couldn't help it. He sighed before standing up.

"I'm going to prepare a bath for you. Which bath bomb do you want? I just got some new ones. Cocoa b.u.t.ter, vanilla or rosemary mint?"

"Rosemary mint!" Tsubaki quickly chose one.

"Okay, princess. Just wait here." Ren took off his coat and folded his long sleeves before he did the same to his pants. After throwing the tie into the laundry basket, he entered the bathroom.

From the bed, Tsubaki could hear the sound of water filling the tub. Occasionally she could see her husband moving back and forth. Ren was always being considerate to her. It never failed to warm het heart.

"I've placed your night gown and towel on the countertop. I could call for a maid to help you bathing." Ren came out of the bathroom, his forehead glistening with sweat. He carefully untie the bandages around Tsubaki's feet.

"It's okay, I could do it myself." Tsubaki rejected the offer. Ren helped her to walk inside the bathroom.

"Wear the slippers, I don't want you to slip. I will ask the maids to put anti slip mats tomorrow. And please don't lock the door, just in case anything happens."

"Okay." Sensing the worry in his voice, she didn't object them.

Closing the door, she carefully stepped inside the tub after taking off her clothes. The refres.h.i.+ng scents of the bath water made her felt at ease. She leaned slowly against the tub.

Who wanted to hurt me?

Tsubaki has masked her worries in front of Ren. After telling him her theory, she couldn't help but feeling that something was off.

What happened earlier was a mystery.

After drying off her body, Tsubaki quickly got dressed. Opening the door, she saw her man was standing in front of her with a worried face. She flashed a smile at the sight of him.
