The soldiers who were training nearby had also paused and looked questioningly at Linghe.

Linghe frowned. “Reporting to General, it’s the men from the Blaze Army.”

“Blaze Army?” Ji Fengyan was slightly shocked.

“It appears that some of the Blaze Army soldiers on patrol were attacked. They have just returned and there are quite a number of injuries.”

Ji Fengyan narrowed her eyes.

The purpose of the three-army alliance was to regain the Plain of Corpses. The earlier battle had dragged on for years only to yield a portion of the territory. The consecutive years of war had resulted in substantial losses to the Kingdom of the Sacred Dragon. As a result, they eventually halted their campaign to recuperate. The demons had also overexerted their own resources and had stopped their attacks for some time.

Nevertheless, the demons’ standstill was just a temporary thing.

There had always been unrest at the Plain of Corpses. The nearby villages suffered frequent demon attacks and as time pa.s.sed, the demon activity in the area had ballooned.

His shouts had attracted several other soldiers in the camp.

“What are you all doing just standing there!” An imperious voice suddenly rang out.

Zhan Fei walked out from behind the crowd and glanced at those injured Blaze Army soldiers.

As the Blaze Army’s camp was situated in the center and some distance away, most of the soldiers at the scene were from the Green Nightmare Army.

The bloodied soldiers felt a sense of relief on seeing Zhan Fei. “Lord Zhan! We were ambushed by demons and suffered serious injuries. Please send reinforcements to save our brothers who are still trapped there!”

Zhan Fei frowned as he pa.s.sed a sweeping glance over the bunch. He also took in Ji Fengyan and company from the corner of his eyes. A venomous glint flashed across his eyes as he glared at the pleading soldier. “How dare you create such a ruckus in the camp? Didn’t your General Yang teach you guys proper etiquette?”
