Leo looked out through the window, it was sunrise. This was his third day outside of his house. All that had happened yesterday was greatly beneficial to him. He took his bath and got dressed. From the look he gave while he walked to the restaurant downstairs, this kid was extremely proud of himself. He sat on a table, ordered and ate food then he prepared to set out of the inn.

Before doing this, he ordered for more food and drinks and stored them in his storage ring. Then he said to the waiter

Leo: If I don't come back tonight, cancel my reservation.

The waiter nodded and Leo left the inn

On getting to the outskirt of town, Leo heard three men arguing. He ignored them and continued forward. One of them noticed Leo walking into the forest and hurriedly ran towards him.

Hey kid, what are you doing here? Did you lose your way? This is no place for a child you know?

Leo:(innocently looking at the stranger) I am going inside to kill beasts. Do you want to join me? I have five million gold and I will pay you five hundred thousand each to protect me.

Hearing the amount, all three man twitched. Who is this kid? Leo gave each of them fifty thousand gold to kill their doubts. Seeing this, the first man introduced himself. I am Michael and these are my companions, Peter and Tony.

Peter and Tony: a pleasure doing business with you (both of them gave a mischievous smile).

Michael : and your name is?

Leo: Derrick. Leo lied.

Michael : Attempting to enter Hale Wood Forest alone would mean you are strong enough to protect yourself. I and my friends are in the n.o.ble knight realm, lower stage. What about you?

Leo: Squire, 4th level

Michael:(he is this weak?) How were you planning on fighting demon beast with your weak cultivation level?!! You are lucky you met us. In fact, we will kill the beasts for you while to continue to train.

Leo: Thank you kind sirs. I will reward you handsomely.

With joy on their faces, they accompanied Leo into the forest. Tony was ecstatic. He had made fifty thousand gold for accepting an escort mission. He spoke with Peter, who was also ecstatic.

Tony: when are we going to kill this kid?

Peter: when Michael gives the signal.

Tony: we are going to be rich.

Money really had a way of twisting and corrupting souls. The difference between the n.o.bles and commoners was something undeniably large. What's a gold coin? Only extremely wealthy people spend money in gold. If it were a normal mission gotten from a guild, the pay would be in silver. Although, they had received fifty thousand gold earlier, it wasn't a small amount as missions in guilds hardly pay to that amount. With the 100 silver equaling 1 gold exchange rate, they had made five million silver. With five million silver, you could afford a good house, and live a good life.

Leo knew the importance of gold. He understood the difference between n.o.bles and commoners. Although, he felt pity for them, it didn't mean he wouldn't enjoy his benefits. These man had failed to ask the most important question. What is a kid of n.o.ble status doing here without any protection?

For two days straight, Michael and his friends had been hunting demon beasts and today was no different. They had set up camp at a side of the forest and would meet there at sun down. What Leo had told them was to get as many beast cores as possible of rank one and two demon beasts, probably a hundred plus. While they hunted down beasts these few days, they had planned to take down Leo and the plan on Leos' death was tonight. Leo, on the other hand, knew of their intentions as he had stealthily followed them during these days. When they went hunting in the day, Leo took to learning the techniques for his dark element from the scrolls he had won. In the past days, he had memorized all the techniques and could perfectly apply them to his attacks. While training in his Light and darkness element, he came up with an hypothesis. If light and darkness are reverse, doesn't that mean that learning one element, and using it the other way round for the other helps in improving both elements? This way, I don't have to worry about one getting stronger than the other or a stunted growth in my cultivation.

At sun down, Leo sat at the campsite waiting for the men to arrive. Suddenly, Michael arrived, grabbed Leo and ran away. Michael had a st.u.r.dy build and was a little tall, probably 5'5. Michael had ran with Leo deeper into the forest. These region had stronger demon beast. With their current cultivation level, they wouldn't survive a night. After a while, Michael put down Leo and said

Michael : Derrick, I am sorry for my earlier actions. My friends had planned of killing you and stealing your possessions but I didn't want that for you as you were kind enough to offer fifty thousand gold to me 3 days ago.

Leo nodded then tried relaxing when he heard a explosion behind him.

Peter: where do you think you are going Michael? You want to have it all to yourself?

Michael : I won't let you kill the kid.

Peter: huh!! Hahahahaha(peter laughed crazily). But wasn't it your idea from the start? Now you are claiming to be all self righteous. Come on Michael, I got rid of Tony back at the camp. He never expected it. So why don't we just share the benefits?

Michael :(brandis.h.i.+ng his sword) Go to h.e.l.l you son of a bit*h.

Releasing their mana, silver amours enveloped both men.

*clang* *clang*

They struck each other. *chinnnggg* their swords kept reverberating due to their continuous attack. Peter flew backwards and landed with a kneel on one knee. Michael also moved back and balanced himself with his sword stabbed into the ground.

Peter infused his mana into his sword and continuously strikes Michael. With each strike, you could see ripples of water. Peter was a water elementalist. Michael, seeing this, infused mana to his sword and the ground formed a wall like barrier around him.

Hmmm,an earth elementalist, thought Leo. Michael dragged his sword that was somewhat covered in rocks and slashed it in Peters direction. Not observing the incoming rocks, he got hit by them and was still recovering due to some particles entering his eyes. When he finally opened them, he saw Michael smiling holding a sword covered in blood. Before he knew it he fell to the ground. Michael had severed his legs.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! You b.a.s.t.a.r.d!! You think you'll get away with this? Peter screamed.

Knowing that Tony was dead and he had horribly injured Peter, he maniacally laughed and said to Peter. I won't kill you yet. As he said that, he severed both of Peters hands. I want you to watch me kill the kid and steal everything for myself. From this moment onward, it's the good life for me.

Turning around to Leos direction, he said, kid, you are ne....

Before he finished his statement, his hands fell to the ground. Confused, he looked at Peter who was on the floor, disabled. He saw a scared expression on Peters face then turned to the direction Peter was looking at. He saw Leo holding two bloodied swords, smiling viciously at them.

Everything happened so fast. Then he realized something. The first time he saw this kid, he was walking alone into this forest, without any protection. The reason isn't that the kid is stupid, it's that he never needed any.

Taking back his swords, Leo stretched forth his right hand and a yellow star shaped magic seal appeared in front of his hand and a larger one appeared above both Michael and Peter.

Both men looked at Leo, who due to the wind blowing his black hair, looked like a devil, and said to themselves, is he the devil? Leo said to them

Leo: nice doing business with you.

After saying those words, a barrage of lightning struck both Men who died instantly.
