There was a wooden desk in the north part of the room quite dark in colour which had a few small stacks of paper on it.
In front of the desk, there was a gla.s.s coffee table that looked a bit too modern for the setting at first glance but would later blend in. Two couches were placed at the side of the coffee table that went along with the aesthetic of the room.
It felt very professional and not very Val-like.
And on one of them, a pink-haired vampire was waiting with the aura of a demoness. Her hair was a bit dishevelled but her clothes seemed to be fine. I guess she had the time to fix that at least.

*CREAK*
She jolted her head to the sound of the door opening and sent one nasty glare their way. She then haughtily moved her head away with a 'Hmph!'
Everyone present immediately thought that she looked like some tsundere villainess character. Felicia brought out some popcorn and shared some with Cole so they could enjoy the show.
"Lala..."
Val walked closer to her. He knelt down on one knee and tenderly called out her name. He put his hands over hers and tried to get her attention. However, she wouldn't turn her head.
"I'm sorry for earlier but it's something important! I promise I'll make it up to you, okay?"
Val placed his head on Lala's lap and looked at her with teary eyes. His voice was filled to the brim with a sweetness that if ingested, could probably make someone die from a sugar overdose or get diabetes.
Finally giving in, Lala moved her gaze to Val's direction and immediately regretted doing so. His face looked so pitiful and lonely that made her feel instant regret for her actions. This was why she would take any chance to get payback from him due to the numerous times she had lost to that same face.
But since there were two others present, she couldn't exactly go and complain right then and there so she decided to continue their talk at a later time.
"Tch, I can't do anything if you put on that face.."
Lala then stood up and left while pouting and stomping down on the ground with her bare feet. Seeing that she probably wasn't supposed to interrupt Cole and Val's deal, Felicia followed after her.
"Lala, you seem to be in a very foul mood."
"After all, it got interrupted!!"
Lala looked like she was about to answer 'Nothing' when asked if anything was wrong like a typical tsundere. But with the way she crossed her arms together and pouted, Felicia thought that she looked more mad than sad. But she quickly threw away such thoughts when she heard her words.
"Hmmm? What got interrupted? Would you please share?"
Felicia had a knowing gaze on and nudged Lala for more information. Lala was a bit surprised by Felicia's reaction. When they had first met, she came off to her as the kind of person who would shy away from such topics. She couldn't help but grin at the fact.
"Ooo~ I thought you were a simple flower but it turns out you have greedy roots~"
"Wanna have a little chat?"
"My pleasure~!"
They happily left the room, leaving Cole and Val attend to whatever business they needed to do. Val went to brew some tea with a mini kitchen stationed at the right wall of the room while Cole proceeded to take a seat on one of the sofas. He kept his popcorn with him as he waited for Val.
"Now that that's out of the way..."
"What are the contents of this deal?"
The tea was brewed surprisingly quickly. Val placed down a cup for Cole and poured some for him. Cole picked it up and after blowing on it, took a sip.
'Hmmm... Val is quite good.'
"Seeing as it's quite late, I'll make it quite simple."
Feeling satisfied, he cleaned his hands with a handkerchief and placed the cup back on the tray. Val was already sitting across Cole with his usual innocent smile.
"I need you to provide information about the events, happenings, important people, in the〈Fantasia Zone〉. I can send a more detailed contract by about tomorrow or the day after."
Cole then stood up and grabbed a blank sheet of paper that was readily available and started listing down a few things.
"In return, I can either give you monetary compensation or some other kind of reward. Seeing how you have so many treasures in your other cave and this, I expect that you will probably choose the latter."
Val accepted the paper and read the list with interested eyes. The longer he read it, the more the sparkle in his eyes grew. Among the things Cole wrote, it could be various items from different Zones, save for the〈Avant Zone〉.
Although the reason for the〈Avant Zones〉exclusion was mostly for professional reasons and it had nothing to do with Cole's personal feelings.
But then Val realized something. He had discovered that if possible, Cole would usually the most efficient option available.
If Cole had asked Val to do it as a favour, he wouldn't have to find ways to compensate him. He could have used their friends.h.i.+p as a bargaining chip. Even though such an action would obviously be looked down on by others. So, Val just had to ask.
"But, you could have easily asked it as a favour since I was your friend."
"Hm? I think it's quite the opposite."
"It is exactly because I see you as an individual worthy of my time and trust that I wish to make this deal into one where you are an equal party."
Val stopped in the middle of his actions. In truth, he always thought that he may have been one-sidedly thinking that he was Cole's friend. There were a lot of times in the past where he had done so.
So, he was always happy when he found out that the other thought the same. Even when they may have been lying through their teeth to reap Val's benefits. He couldn't stop the small warmth that would rise up and form in his chest. A smile formed on Val's lips and he had made his decision.
"Then, it's a deal! In exchange, bring me to a lot of fun destinations! Ones that you can't find in the〈Fantasia Zone〉!"
He stood up and merrily extended his hand towards Cole. For some reason, Cole thought that Val was s.h.i.+ning. Even with the dark and fearsome appearance of a Dragon, he still looked very lovable and friendly. He was like a star in a pure black sky.
'I'm glad.'
Cole smiled and stood up as well. He grabbed Val's hands and shook it. He now had to make sure that his friend would be properly compensated in the future.
"Alright."
