"*sigh*... In the end, we didn't get to go to the Amus.e.m.e.nt Park."

"Were you looking forward to it that much?"

"It wasn't for me... It was to supposed to be Eva's first time out of the house..."

A bit before Felicia teleported the party back to the〈Human Realm〉, Cole and Felicia were having a little chat about their failed trip.

And it was at this point in their conversation, that they turned their heads to the girl and boy happily chatting away together.

"At least she gained a friend..."

"Yeah..."

Felicia smiled at Eva's face and when Cole saw such a thing, he couldn't help but do the same.

"So you live in the〈Neutral Zone〉, what's it like?"

"It's full of dull colors, like black and white. There's also sometimes dark blue. It's basically full of neutral colors. But Felicia said that it has a pretty night sky, not that I've seen it before. How about the〈Fantasia Zone〉?"

"It's full of these vibrant colors and weird monsters. There are many people of different races and species. It's nothing like the〈Neutral Zone〉, is it?"

"Such a peaceful sight, isn't it."

Lala said as she approached them with her hand dragging along the still pa.s.sed out Val.

Cole could feel s.h.i.+vers up his spine as he saw his only friend in such a state and silently prayed that he'll have better relations.h.i.+ps with his wife in the future.

"Y-yes, it is, Miss Lala. Unfortunately, we must take our leave. You still have things to do, don't you?"

As Felicia said this, she hurriedly stepped away from Lala and his behind Cole's back.

"Uhuhuhu... You two are such a cute couple. It reminds me of how me and Val were in the old days."

"C-couple?!"

Felicia turned into a red tomato and started freaking out due to excitement, forgetting that she was right behind Cole.

Well, Cole thought that even she had things to worry about and minded it no further.

He brushed off Lala's remark and walked up to Eva.

Eva, noticing him, stopped her chat with Braith and put on a quizzical expression on her face.

"What is it, Papa?"

Cole crouched down to Eva's level and then picked her up and placed her on his shoulders.

"It's time to go home.'

"Eh? Okay... Bye, bye, Braith. I'll visit you sometime."

With that, Eva waved Braith goodbye to which he waved back before Eva was carried away by Cole back to Felicia.

It was by then that Felicia was panting on the ground with her face still flushed and Lala was chuckling at her friend's current state.

'How could I have shown my delight in plain day?! Cole will definitely hate me for it and I'll no longer be allowed to call him by his name! AAAAAAAAHHHH!!'

It was at this point in time that Felicia decided to just accept her fate and face Cole and looked up.

Cole was conveniently looking at her and since he was standing, it caused a shadow to loom over her, causing Cole's face to look terrifying from her point of view.

'Hiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!'

"I-I'm sorry!"

Knowing that it was better to admit you're mistakes outright, Felicia imediately gave a 90° degree bow and apologized and closed her eyes to the incoming terror.

"? Felicia, what are you doing?"

"Felicia, let's go home."

"Eh?"

Unexpectedly, not hearing any kind of anger or irritation from her favorite voice in the world, Felicia stopped bowing and opened her eyes.

The sight she was greeted with was a Cole with a confused expression and a slightly sad Eva.

"Y-yes..."

'He's not mad? And he's even carrying Eva on his back?'

Felicia decided to question about such things when they got back to the〈Neutral Zone〉

"Okay, let's go home."

"And we're back home."

"I still think you're skill is a bit anti-climatic."

"Papa, let me down."

They arrived inside the living room of their house in the〈Neutral Zone〉

Cole put Eva down and she left for her room upstairs.

After making sure that Eva didn't foolishly trip on the stairs the way up, Cole plopped down on the couch exhaustedly.

"*sigh*... Such an exhausting day..."

"But at least there were some good things that happened though..."

Felicia said as she put down a cup of water in front of Cole.

"Thanks."

Cole refres.h.i.+ngly drank the water and Felicia sat next to him, although with a bit of distance between them, while pouring a gla.s.s of water for herself.

"Umm... Cole--"

"Felicia."

Felicia was planning to ask Cole about his new behavior, but when he called her name in such a serious tone, she felt it was better for him to speak first.

"W-what is it, Cole?"

Cole could feel Felicia's nervousness through her voice and felt like asking himself if he should really do this.

'But..'

But, if he had such weak resolve then he probably would've gone insane from another incident years ago.

"Felicia... how would you feel if I had a secret that I couldn't tell you?"

"..."

Felicia went silent and pondered for a bit.

"Well... I would be happy that you asked me about it in the first place."

"Eh?"

Cole was startled by Felicia's response, finding it unusual.

"After all, you used to be silent and were mostly never here. You wouldn't talk to me or Eva at all and it was if we didn't even exist to you-- Cole?!"

*BAM*

When Cole heard the first part of Felicia's response, he was still slightly confused but as she continued, he could only think that the former owner was a giant a.s.shole and couldn't take it anymore so he banged his head in the table to let off some steam.

"I see..."

"Umm... Cole?"

"Felicia."

"Y-yes?!"

Cole lifted his head up from the table and stared Felicia right in the eyes.

The staring contest lasted for a while until he just smiled.

"I'll tell you my secret some other time. It won't be know but it'll be someday, so..."

He then patted Felicia's head and then said...

"...Wait for it, okay?"

"...Yes..."

*THUMP THUMP*

And Felicia accepted, not knowing that her heart was beating faster than usual and her face was beet red.

Thus, ended the eventful day, with an event in the future scheduled.
