"... Um... Eva..."

"Yes?"

Back in the Stewarf House, it was about 2 hours after Cole had left and Eva was enjoying a nice bowl of Frosties.

Eva lifted her head from her bowl and quizzically stared at Felicia, wondering what she wanted to ask her.

'If it's about the cereal, it is really tasty.'

There was worry and confusion in Felicia's dark grey eyes.

Felicia s.h.i.+fted her gaze and kept on alternating it between Eva and a random item.

This had gone on for some time before she took a deep breath and stared into the child's eyes who were so like her own.

"...Eva... Why do you trust Cole so much already?"

"2 months."

"Eh?"

Felicia was suprised and confused with Eva's answer. It was becaude it was both instant and she didn't understand it.

Eva stared into the cereal bowl that mostly had milk left and looked at her own reflection.

"2 months. He could have told me many years later or not at all... Yet, he told me about his past in a short 2 months."

Felicia's eyes widened slightly at Eva's realization but then she remembered that Eva was a smart kid.

"...And he did way more fun stuff with me in those 2 months than my actual dad ever did. Of course I'd love him more!"

Eva said that with the brightest smile that Felicia had ever seen from her.

"How about you, Felicia? Why do you have so much trouble accepting the new 'Papa'?"

'Wait, or is he the original because he was technically born first...'

Felicia showed a weird expression on her face and looked as if she was having diarrhea.

"... It's a stupid reason, though..."

"If you have a reason then doesn't that make it somewhat better."

Eva rea.s.sured Felicia and with that, she took another one of her deep breaths and said loudly.

"It's because he's my Idol!"

"...What?"

Eva's eyes became sime dots at Felicia's declaration and hadn't heard the term 'Idol', yet.

"I idolized him growing up! He was so cool and I wanted to be like him!"

"But when I got booted out of the〈Avant Zone〉, I couldn't do that anymore..."

Felicia slammed her hands on the table and small tears welled up in her eyes. As she continued to speak, the tears spilled out of her eyes.

"... The only reason I became a maid for Cole was because he gave me a place to stay and I only liked him because he looked exactly like he person I admired!"

Eva couldn't understand why Felicia was crying. She didn't get it. She just tilted her head in confusion.

'Since it's the actual Papa, shouldn't she be happy?'

Eva thought that Felicia should be overjoyed then.

Felicia noticed Eva's obvious confusion and wiped the tears off her face and showed a helpless smile as she stared at her own hands and clenched them.

"In the end, you're really just a child... You probably didn't understand anything..."

Eva ended up freaking out a bit because of Felicia's reaction and thought of anything she could to help her.

Seeing the silly expression on Eva's chubby little face, Felicia changed her helpless smile to her usual soft and gentle one.

She then patted Eva's soft, silver hair from across the table, causing Eva to stiffen up.

"...But that's fine... That's how children are supposed to be..."

Felicia stood up and put Eva's forgotten cereal bowl into the sink, throwing away the still drinkable milk.

As she washed the bowl and spoon, Felicia only had his one thought.

'...I'm not a good person...'

*KNOCK KNOCK*
