"Are you home yet?" Xu Jia Li happily asked Si Weimin. She just arrived home so she immediately video called him. She was inside her room because Shen Linqin was outside fixing things that she needed for the different location tomorrow.

"I'm just about to go."

The smile on Xu Jia Li's face widened when she saw that he was still inside a dimly lit room. Thinking that it was Si Weimin's office, she teased, "I don't think you're about to go. Tell me, you're still in your office right?"

"No, love… I'm here in the bas.e.m.e.nt."

There was a sudden pang of fear that shot Xu Jia Li right after she heard Si Weimin. She looked intently at him as if asking him why he was there. She opened her mouth but no words came out. It seemed that she already knew the reason he was there. Her heart began to thump fast. She didn't know how to react as she stared at him.

"Are you okay, love?"

She inhaled deeply before she forced a smile, "Of course, I'm okay. Hmm, so… did the man tell you something?"

"There's something that he said while he was in the influence of the drug. It wasn't much but it's a good thing to start."

With heart pounding fast, she looked at him, testing the water if she could ask what had been bugging her since last night. Once she found the courage, she asked without batting an eye, "Did he tell you who wants to hurt me?"

Even before Si Weimin talked, Xu Jia Li's phone suddenly hung, "What happened? h.e.l.lo? Honey? What's wrong?"

She flipped her phone and tapped the screen several times. She tried to fix her phone but she couldn't. She furrowed her brows as she examined her phone. It was the first time that it happened.

She went out of her room with that in mind.

"Linqin, I think my phone isn't working well," she said once she saw Shen Linqin fixing her clothes in the living room.

"But Li-jie, it's new. It's given by your sponsor."

"It suddenly hangs while I'm on video call."

"Maybe you just need to clean it up to save some s.p.a.ce," Shen Linqin answered inattentively.

She just shook her head as she watched how happy Shen Linqin was. She knew how excited she was to go to the resort.

Instead of disturbing her, she decided to walk back inside her room and began to reexamine the phone on her hand. She looked carefully before she began to turn it off. After a few seconds, she turned it on again.

She scrolled through the apps and other setting to find the cause why it hung out of the blue.

Since she knew something about technology, she typed a few code on her phone. After a few taps, the result made her shudder. She was shocked to see that a hacking virus actually stole information from her phone.

From the call and messages log to the camera and photos, the virus was so powerful that it could also make her phone took photos even if she didn't take them. It even allowed her phone to record conversations. It was also the reason why her phone suddenly hung.

She furrowed her brows as she a.n.a.lyzed how it worked. Another tap from her phone and she was redirected to the main server where the information was sent. She was determined to know how the virus was successfully installed in her phone.

It was not the ordinary virus that one could get through browsing the internet and accidentally downloading malicious files. This particular one needed to be installed manually.

Her frown deepened when a message suddenly popped on her phone.

[ Trying your luck, eh? Think you can beat me?]

Xu Jia Li's lips curled up into a sneer as she quickly typed her reply, [Wanna try?]

[I dare you.]

Once she received the reply, she immediately typed a few code. She grinned when she infiltrated the person's server. She quickly tapped on her phone as she copied everything on the server. After successfully copying the content of the server, she permanently deleted all that's inside. She made sure that the person wouldn't recover anything.

The person even tried to stop her but she was faster. She knew from the looks of it that the person controlling the server wasn't the one who developed the virus. The person was too easy to beat which made Xu Jia Li anxious. If the person wasn't the one, then she had to find out sooner.

A message flashed into her screen before she totally lost contact to the server,

[You're just lucky this time.]

Si Weimin ended the call after Xu Jia Li hung up. He looked at the four men inside before he pointed at the man who was now asleep, "Keep an eye on him. I'm sure we will get more tomorrow."

"Yes boss."

"w.a.n.g Guo, come with me."

He walked out of the bas.e.m.e.nt with w.a.n.g Guo following behind. The two of them entered the elevator without talking.

Once they were outside, one of Si Weimin's men handed him his key as his car waited outside.

"w.a.n.g Guo, rest tonight and come back here tomorrow. Don't bother going to the company. I need more information that we can get from him," Si Weimin said in a serious tone as he gazed the brick house.

"Yes, boss," w.a.n.g Guo answered before he stated reluctantly, "Boss, do you think there's someone behind him who really wants to do harm to the young madam?"

Si Weimin had a dark expression on his face before he nodded, "Hmm."

In an unknown place, two in the morning…

"Stupid!" A loud slap could be heard as it landed on the woman's face, "How dare you go against our plan?!"

"I d-didn't mean to. I d-don't kno–"

The woman didn't finish her words when another slap hit her face, "Don't speak! I will only give you one chance to settle this thing!"

She winced as she bit her lip. She didn't dare make a sound or continue reasoning out. She clenched her jaw as she moved her gaze down. She underestimated Xu Jia Li which led to her almost destroying their entire plan.

"You're still lucky that Red removed important information in the server. Don't make such hasty move again!"
