Ability Wielders Chapter 12: Night Patrol

"Let me explain the mission first." Huang Chen said.

"Your mission is to hunt this guy." Huang Chen then sent a picture to the both of them in there Holographic Device.

The two heard the notification and opened it. "Who is this?" Liu Fang asked after looking at the picture of a man.

The picture of the man contained complete information. The man's height was 181 cm, with a weight of 82.7 kg. His muscles were pretty well-toned and has an average skin tone. His hair is black in color and was fas.h.i.+oned so that his right eye cannot be seen. There's also information about his cultivation level and ability. His ability was Shadow Operation, which allows him to control shadows and his cultivation level is that of Middle Threshold Transcension Tier, at the 8th Stage. His age was

"That is the Midnight Walker." Huang Chen said.

"Midnight Walker?" This time, Hang Cong was the one who asked.

"He got his name like that because he always wander during midnight. He then kills random people. Don't you read or watch the news?" Huang Chen said.

When the two of them heard the last sentence, they both smiled wryly and looked at each other. They didn't watch any news at all!

"You patrol the right side of this city" Huang Chen pointed to Liu Fang. "And you patrol the left side." He then pointed to Hang Cong.

"You guys might need these." Huang Chen then gave them an earpiece. "That is called a Telepathic Earpiece, a common Origin Equipment (1) for police, scouts, spies and such. You connect it to your Holographic Device using wireless connection. You also connect to each other using your contact numbers. This way, the earpiece will create a signal whenever the other party was injured. Okay, now, go."

"Oh, yeah, you might also need these." Huang Chen then once again turned around. He then waved his hand and masks appeared in front of the two. Liu Fang's mask looked like a fox and Hang Cong's mask was a black bird mask.

Huang Chen then went out.

At the entrance of Utopian Academy, Liu Fang and Hang Cong were wearing the masks while exchanging contact numbers.

It was currently 12:06. Their teacher reminded them on their Holographic Device to stop their search at 1:00 AM, if they couldn't find Midnight Walker.

Liu Fang and Hang Cong looked at each other with a meaningful glance. Liu Fang then walked towards the western direction and Hang Cong ran using his [Phantom Burst].

Liu Fang was constantly using his [Total Observation] and was continuously observing his surroundings. His senses were enhanced, and he can see, smell and hear everything within 100 meters. Since it was past midnight, the Paradise was extremely quiet.

'One should know that this city is the capital of Paradise 19, and it's over 50 million kilometers squared in area, isn't it impossible to find someone in such a large area?' Liu Fang thought while wandering and constantly observing his surroundings.

He then opened his Holographic Device and looked at the map of the Main City 19, which was the name of the city, and actually all other capitals of other Paradises, except for the number. The map was extremely detailed and was in 3D as it was in a hologram. It was also colored and not just blue, like those ancient films that Liu Fang watched.

He then edited it and made a line on the exact middle, separating the side he patrols and Hang Cong's side. He then observed and quickly memorized the map of the city, which was done under 10 seconds.

Just then, his Telepathic Earpiece made a sound. "Liu Fang? This is impossible, right?" Hang Cong's voice sounded out.

"Definitely." Liu Fang replied.

The Telepathic Earpiece didn't need voices to make sounds, instead, it scans the brainwaves and thoughts of the user, allowing them to speak using only their minds. This piece of Origin Equipment is the most basic necessity that guards, police, scouts, and even regular citizens have. Of course, the Telepathic Earpiece only conveys messages that the user wills to be conveyed, and not their actual, regular thoughts.

"Is this only tonight, or would we patrol the streets every night?" Hang Cong wondered.

"Maybe until we find the guy." Liu Fang said in reply.

"Maybe so." Hang Cong said and didn't speak any further.

After walking for 15 minutes, Liu Fang encountered a couple. Although it was 12:21 AM in the morning, the city still has a couple of nocturnal human beings and many of them are wondering in the city. The city was also fully illuminated as every 100 meters was a Dark Illumination Orbs, which was floating 25 meters above ground. It was in a grid like pattern on Main City 19.

Liu Fang quickly hid on the corner of a building. As [Total Observation] was always activated, he observed the couple to have no evil intentions at all. After a few seconds, they pa.s.sed him.

At Hang Cong's side, n.o.body can see him nor hear him as he was constantly running around with his [Phantom Burst] on. At most, some people he encountered only saw a blur and afterimages ran by them, scaring them as they thought it was a ghost.

By the end of the patrol, he covered almost a tenth of the side he was patrolling, yet, he wasn't able to see any Midnight Walker.

Liu Fang constantly encountered people after coming in contact with the couple. There were actually many people here! He then tried to remember the map he memorized.

When he remembered, he face palmed. He was in the Red Light District of Main City 19!

'How the h.e.l.l did I end up here?' Liu Fang shook his head and smiled wryly to himself. 'I'm only 15 for f.u.c.k's sake! I haven't even lost my virginity yet, and yet I'm here at the red light district!' Liu Fang thought.

'Forget it, I'm just here to patrol anyways, not go into any brothels, strip clubs or anything.' Although Liu Fang's s.e.xual instincts are just any typical boys in his age, he still has a better self-control to himself, and as his [Total Observation] is on, his focus was only on his mission and nothing else.

He then removed his mask. But when he thought of it, he wore it again. His face was too young!

He then sneaked around, trying not to be spotted by anyone. In the end, he had to give up. The red light district has too many people!

Meanwhile, on a certain alley in the red light district, a m.u.f.fled screaming from a lady was heard. A man was standing in the alley and was using his hands to gag the woman. The woman was pretty beautiful and had an extremely alluring body figure. The woman couldn't resist as the man was too strong. She was naked and was being raped by the man.

It was the Midnight Walker!

The Midnight Walker then walked away and disappeared using the shadows.

In the morning, Liu Fang went to Hang Cong's house as his body was sore. Hang Cong was only able to move around last night to patrol because the soreness haven't hit yet! It only hit him when he slept and awoke.

In cla.s.s, Liu Fang was using [Total Observation] to remember each and every content of the teacher's teachings. It was like cheating, but isn't because he was able to activate [Total Observation] without making his Origin Crystal rise.

At Combat Cla.s.s, Liu Fang sparred with Hang Cong and won, one because his physical strength was superior, two, because of his [Total Observation], which let him predict where Hang Cong would run to even while using his [Phantom Burst].

At night, Liu Fang and Hang Cong trained and trained and after training their bodies, they would patrol the city.

After patrolling, they then returned to their own houses and sneaked inside to sleep.

This was their routine for the next three months!

Halfway the three months, Hang Cong encountered Midnight Walker on a small dwelling part of the city!
