Ability Wielders Chapter 13: Fighting The Midnight Walker

When Hang Cong encountered the Midnight Walker, his gear was already upgraded than half a month ago.

He was wearing an Optic Imperceptibility Cloak (OIC), which allowed him to become invisible. He was also wearing boots that helped him to run off road and move easier. His clothes were made from the hide of a D- Rank Demon Beast called Hurricane Sabertooth and was died with black, which is extremely flexible and almost weightless and offers protection even against the full-on attack of a 14th Stage Transcension Tier cultivator. He has two daggers on the back of his waist, which were made with the teeth of the Hurricane Sabertooth and painted with black. He was still wearing his black bird mask.

Hang Cong was in a roof, stalking the Midnight Walker wandering.

"Liu Fang," Hang Cong willed to be sent through the Telepathic Earpiece. "I found the Midnight Walker."

"Okay, copy." Liu Fang said. "What is he doing?"

"Seems like he's looking for something, if not, someone." Hang Cong said while continuously observing the Midnight Walker.

"Should I engage him?" Hang Cong then asked.

In the past one and a half month, Hang Cong treated Liu Fang as the leader to this operation as he was the stronger one. His terrifying talent shocked Hang Cong and didn't mind being under his command. He treats Liu Fang as his brother and his boss.

"Sure, but tread at your own risk. Remember, your life is the priority." Liu Fang said. "I'll hurry quickly."

"Okay." Hang Cong said and jumped from the roof he was observing from.

He then removed his OIC and brandished his two Sabertooth Fang Daggers. He then activated his [Phantom Burst] and ran towards Midnight Walker like an a.s.sa.s.sin.

He then jumped and tried to stab the Midnight Walker at the back, but before the daggers landed, shadows blocked it.

Hang Cong then jumped backwards.

"Oho, a non-cultivator is out hunting me?" The Midnight Walker suddenly said. Midnight Walker then turned around. "Fascinating." He said while he licked his lips.

After he heard of the Midnight Walker, he would tune in the news every spare second he got. He got information about the killings that the Midnight Walker made. **** cases, murder, ma.s.sacres, and theft. Midnight Walker is one of the most notorious low-leveled cultivator in Paradise 19.

As for why the SOW didn't send out people to get him, no one also knows the reason why. Some speculations say that the Midnight Walker is a much more powerful existence than he is. Some say that he's untraceable and always blend in with the shadows. But only people like Liu Fang, Hang Cong, and Huang Chen knew that there's a much bigger power behind Midnight Walker that hides him.

Midnight Walker then used the shadows to create many tentacles. "Hehe, do you like my skill? Shadow Tentacles." Midnight Walker giggled like a maniac.

As for Hang Cong, he willed the earpiece to send the message, "Hurry."

He then ran around Midnight Walker, leaving behind afterimages.

"Oh, you're pretty fast." Midnight Walker then made many more tentacles that had an extremely sharp point and spread it out in all directions.

The good thing is that the h.e.l.lish training that Hang Cong did for one and half a month paid off. He was able to dodge that in the last second. He then ran towards Midnight Walker.

Meanwhile, Liu Fang was tracking where Hang Cong was through his Holographic Device.

Liu Fang was also wearing an OIC, and also his fox mask. He was wearing gauntlets made out of Jarganium, which is a rare type of ore that can only be destroyed by Peak Threshold Transcension Tier cultivators. The gauntlet's design was pretty simplistic and was black in color. He was wearing a black light armor also made out of Jarganium. He has two pistols called the Dark Destroyer, which fired energy blasts that can kill of an E+ Rank Demon Beast instantly. It was powered using World Essence, which is either absorbed from the user, or from the environment, or from a Solidified World Essence, or simply called as Energy Crystals. Liu Fang was wearing three bars of Energy Crystals on each of his waist.

He then heard the message from Hang Cong and ran even faster. After one and half month of training, his maximum speed reached 73 kph and do this continuously for an hour.

He opened his Holographic Device and opened Hang Cong's side of the map, where a green circle was marked. That green circle was, obviously, Hang Cong. Liu Fang then used [Total Observation] and memorized a shortcut towards Hang Cong.

After about ten minutes, he arrived. What he saw was shocking.

Ten minutes ago, while Hang Cong was running towards Midnight Walker a tentacle suddenly approached his side.

He quickly reacted and dodged by jumping.

"d.a.m.n, he's also fast." Hang Cong mumbled. "Okay, time to get serious." Hang Cong's speed then burst out to 786 kph.

When Midnight Walker saw this, he was surprised, but his surprise lasted for only a moment. His lips then crept up into a smile.

"How fascinating." Midnight Walker said. He then covered the area with shadows and moments later, many Midnight Walkers appeared in front of Hang Cong.

"Can you find me?" Him and all of the clones' voice rang out. "This is another one of my skill, Shadow Clones!"

As for Hang Cong, his face was still serious. He then ran towards one of the clones and sliced out before running through it.

"Wrong!" Midnight Walker laughed and attacked him with a tentacle.

Hang Cong parried it with his daggers.

"G.o.ddammit." Hang Cong mumbled.

He then ran backwards and threw his daggers towards two of the clones. He attached his two daggers into a system that pulled his daggers towards him again once thrown. The wires were made out of Jarganium and even Midnight Walker's shadows wouldn't be able to cut it.

The two Midnight Walkers that Hang Cong threw the blades towards to then dissipated.

"Truly fascinating!" Midnight Walker laughed loudly. "Any non-cultivator who had abilities wouldn't even stand a chance against me, and you are fighting against me on almost equal terms!"

"But, I don't have time for this." Midnight Walker then said seriously.

When Hang Cong heard that, he felt a sense of danger. Before he had time to react, countless amounts of tentacles were already flying towards his way.

"This is a waste of talent." Midnight Walker's voice contained some emotion as he shook his head.

He knew that Hang Cong was wearing armor that his shadow couldn't penetrate easily, but he knew that if he concentrated enough tentacles into one spot, he would be able to penetrate that clothing.

But just before the tentacles landed on Hang Cong, a gunshot was heard. It went straight for the shadow, which surprisingly dissipated the shadow!

Of course, the shadow was already a solid matter at that time, so anything would be able to touch it if they wanted to.

"Liu Fang!" Hang Cong turned around and shouted.

"Oho, another one?" Midnight Walker said and created many more tentacles. He then shot out the tentacles to Liu Fang, who removed his OIC.

He then shot each tentacle down with his Dark Destroyer with absolute accuracy. As for how he did this, he did it by predicting the trajectory of the tentacles with his [Total Observation] and shot at the spot. His predictions were, of course, always right as he performs complex mathematical computations in his brain.

In his view, these tentacles were nothing, and if he uses [Indestructible Body], not even a High Threshold cultivator would be able to pierce his body!

After he saw Liu Fang shooting down all of the tentacles, Hang Cong knew exactly what to do. He ran towards Midnight Walker using his [Phantom Burst].

As Liu Fang was keeping Midnight Walker busy, Midnight Walker didn't have the time to make any more clones as it all had dissipated when his concentration was taken by Liu Fang, he also didn't have time to notice Hang Cong. He also had a limit to how much tentacles he can create, which is 25, and all 25 were being destroyed and recreated every time it encountered Liu Fang.

As Hang Cong was getting close to Midnight Walker, Liu Fang was also inching closer. Suddenly, he ran towards Midnight Walker and dodged all of the tentacles that were going towards Liu Fang, even the ones going after his back.

Hang Cong was the first one to reach Midnight Walker and he stabbed Midnight Walker on the stomach. He then jumped back and pulled his daggers back.

When Midnight Walker felt the pain from his stomach, all of the tentacles he created dissipated and he shrieked in pain.

"Pain! PAIN! I DON'T LIKE PAIN!" Midnight Walker shouted as tears were streaming down from his face. "THE TWO OF YOU! YOU WILL PAY FOR WHAT YOU DID!" Midnight Walker shouted.

Just then a jet-black fist smashed on his face. Liu Fang punched him! Hang Cong followed up and threw his two daggers towards the shoulders of Midnight Walker.

Don't underestimate Hang Cong's knife throwing skill as he also practiced his a month ago. He then pressed a b.u.t.ton and electricity traveled down the Jarganium wire.

Midnight Walker, while being sent flying back, felt a stinging pain on his shoulders, and then he was electrified!

Liu Fang then used his Dark Destroyers to shoot Midnight Walker's abdomen.

Hang Cong then pulled back the wire.

They checked Midnight Walker if he was truly dead, just in case, and then they fled away from the scene after putting their OICs on.

At Utopian Academy, CTF floor.

"Good job, you two!" Huang Chen patted Liu Fang and Hang Cong on the shoulders. "Okay, go home and rest, tomorrow, I'll give you your rewards."

They nodded and removed their equipment. They then placed it on a Dimensional Bag that Huang Chen gave them to store their equipment on. The Dimensional Bag, unlike the Storage Ring, doesn't need World Essence to function, it only needs someone to open it and inside is like a whole new room.

After doing this, they got home. To be exact, they sneaked to home using their IOCs, since they don't want any unnecessary attention while going home.
