I saw my nephew climb the carriage alone, how can they let a four year old child support himself like that? I urged for Zetian to go up and follow the child. She also felt unsettled when she saw a child climb up on his own. I guess she has an inkling of the feeling of being left to live alone. It must be fate that brought them together. As I near the carriage someone tried to overstep and enter before me. I threw a needle on her neck and she froze on the spot. The guards of the palace held her in place.

"Who are you?"

"Hmmph! I am Lady Yang, you dare stop me? Impudent!"

"Why are you here?"

"I am that child's a.s.signed nanny! Let me through, or else the emperor will punish everyone here!" She said, making me laugh

"Fu Si, who are these uninvited guards?"

"Reporting to mistress, they are sent by concubine Yun, she said you need more guards because the travel to the mountain regions is dangerous."

"Good. Concubine Yun, I'll remember this debt. Kill!"

Without further delays the knights a.s.signed by my brother killed fifteen a.s.sa.s.sins pretending to be royal guards and the nanny. Their heads were detached from their bodies and blood splurged out of their bare necks. Then I gestured for the guards to strip them, which untimely caught the attention of captain Dongfang Yu.

"This subject greets the princess"

"Good morning captain, rise. Please clean these a.s.sa.s.sins, as you see they were deceiving a monarch in pretending to be royal guards. When I get back to the palace from my travel I will check if you have cleaned them all. The punishment should be death, and send a message to Autistic Dungeons and tell them to keep a tight leash on their dogs, or else I'll dispose them randomly."

"Yes your highness" he bowed and cupped his hands as he ordered some of his men to do the task, but I know the difference of having a traitor than catching the leader of the traitor off guard. I will only need evidence from Yaos.h.i.+ Pavilion for that and I'll be able to eliminate him. He shouldn't have thought that I'll cross him this time, it doesn't matter if he'll replace the palace guards with a.s.sa.s.sins, he just need to hide their ident.i.ties well. Or else I'll exterminate the entire troops of royal guards and replace them with Yao Family's army.

"The emperor has arrived!" Eunuch Fang suddenly appeared

"Sister--"

"I will" I bid everyone goodbye as I step into the carriage

While I was lost in thoughts the sound of a stomach grumbling made me snap out of it. I stared at Zetian but she is already sleeping. Then my gaze landed on the little figure who's holding his stomach.

I felt sad.

Why did they send the child here without eating?

"Xiemen right? Come to big sister and sit beside me."

He was so scared of me that I feel like he is about to pee his pants, but he still complied and slowly sat beside me.

I prepared some water and let him drink some, to stabilize his body before he consume food.

"Are you done?"

He nodded. I opened a few baskets and reveal delicious sandwiches, I also cut some slices of chicken and observed how the child is drooling.

I sighed sadly.

"Here, eat these. If you want something tell this big sister okay. You look so skinny and this big sister will spoil you to eat so much more. Follow this big sister well and you will live lavishly."

"Thank you big sister" he spoke as he continued munching

"Don't they feed you enough food in the palace?" I asked gently, trying not to scare the child

"No, sometimes I only eat once and sometimes they don't feed me." He answered truthfully

"Give your hand to this big sister, I need to check if you are healthy"

He immediately gave his hand and I checked his pulse.

"Luckily they didn't poison you. From now on, you will live with me." I patted his head lightly
