"Where's Flame?" Me trying to change the topic.

"Dunno, find her if you want"

Tss.

"What's wrong with you?" I just noticed those dark circles under his eyes. A messy hair that looks like a bird nest.

"Nothing, just busy" He then grip his own head, he's crazy.

"Fine, gotta go" Before i could exit he asked me again.

"Are you okay?"

Sigh. "I'm not, but maybe I will be"

I walk fast the hospital hallway while trying to find my pain in the a.s.s cousin, Flame.

"Wyett" Tumigil ako sa paglakad. My body went rigid. Who called me Wyett? Who dares to call me Wyett?

"Good to see you" King's friend suddenly pop on my view. Eoghan.

"Anyways, come. I have something to show you" He didn't even let me talked, he just dragged me.

"H-hey!" I protest but he only tighten his grip.

"Wait! where are you taking me?"

He remain silent. I sighed and decided not to talk anymore. He's grabbing my hand, what could i do? i don't sense any ill intent anyway.

For days, I had the chance to live with him but we dont often see each other . I'm always on my room, then we only meet when its time for breakfast or dinner. Nothing more, now I wonder what he is up to.

He opened it without a word.

"Hi" He greeted, that's when two bickering kids look on us.

At first i was shock by his tone, like wow. Didn't expect him to have a sweet voice at all.

He's always stiff and cold. Now it was a breath of fresh air. I can almost see the playful side of him as he look at these two kids.

I'm seing fondness.

"Dokie!"  The little girl automatically hyped.

"Lara!" He smiled.

"Doc handsome is here, Cly!"

"I can see"  The boy beside her answered sn.o.bbingly.

"Doc hubby sit here beside me, i don't like Cly, he's ugly. I might caught his decease"

Despite her fragile look she's such a hyper kid. Talkative, no too loud and talkative for that matter

"Doc hubby, are you here to play with me? OMG! but i don't wanna  move, I'm lazyyyy"

I let the two of them be, they're busy chatting and i don't plan to interfere.

I was just standing in one corner when the boy tapped my leg.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

He pouted. Alright he's adorable.

"You're pretty, i like you"

"Woah" Wait right there.

This time I smiled genuinely and scooted to meet his height.

"Really?" He nodded, i smirk.

"Hmm, not her?" Pointing to the little girl Eoghan is currently talking to.

And because he's a kid he couldn't hide his emotions well. He blush really hard. "Awwww" I teased but he slap my hand.

Lmao.

"See that woman?" I heard Eoghan voice and so i looked at him.

"She's going to be my partner. We will treat you so you'll be healthy again"

he sincerely said.

"Really!? awiiie! i like that! she's pretty, im pretty and your handsome! it's gonna be great!"

"Hi" I greeted.

"Hi pretty dokie!" she enthusiastically said.

The more I look at her the more I get amazed.

"What's your name?" Of course I already know her name base on what Eoghan calls her but it's too informal for me not to personally ask her.

"Lara!"

"Well, you look pretty Lara" I smiled sweetly.

"Hmp, i know!" She giggled.

Noticing how the boy slowly sat beside her she introduce him to me.

"Oh, this is Clyde! he's ugly but he's my friend and he's stubborn! he should have been home by now but he don't wanna! he said they have lotssssss of money so it's okay!"

That made me frown, what does she mean by that? I gaze at Eoghan.

He only sighed.

"Lara" He called the kid.

"Yes dokie?"

"Rest now. Clyde, don't play with her. I know you" the little guy only pouted.

We finally got out of the room.

"So, what's her case?" I curiously asked.

"Sleeping disorder. A very rare type of sleeping disorder"

We started walking while discussing the case.

"Lara has a severe sleeping disorder. Sleep apnea. Her breathing patterns are always unstable. She was diagnosed early so its a good thing we could do something about it. But Im afraid this might become permanently."

It is indeed rare, This type of case is hard to deal with, there is still no cure to this.

"What are you up to?"

"Monitor her from time to time. And i don't want to restrain her body,  in addition , her sleeping disorder started after she survived Leukemia when she was just six years old"

I stopped walking, my mouth parted. "She's a survivor?"

"Uhuh" he looked proud.

Wow "that kid is tough"

"Yeah, she is and she's one of a kind too" I can see adoration in his eyes.

He doesn't seem to notice how rare for a guy to adore a kid.

Pa.s.sion flicks in his eyes everytime he talks about his patients.

"By the way, that little guy a moment ago is also a survivor"

I raise my brow.

"His parents died in a car accident, he survived but he was in coma for four years"

That again, shocked me. I've been working in hospital for years but this kind of thing still amaze me. Kids fighting for life is just, wow.

"He was a blind guy, Wyett" I look at him once again, I'm not used to being called by my first  name. Zach is the only one who calls me that, and sometimes King too, when he's mad.

"Thankfully we found a donor, He should have been out of here if he didn't insisted to his grandpa to stay. He's the grandson of our executive director so he can do whatever he wants, including I guess spending 4 years worth of waiting for his grandson to wake up"

We chatted and chatted.

Never thought this man can be talkative. I like this side of him, easy to deal with.

"Doc" I called him out.

"Im a pediatrician yes, but I never had a case like this. Not even a tough case. So why me?"

"I don't know" He shrug. Don't tell me its because of my cousin again?

But before i could ask him, my phone rang.

It's Flame.

"I gotta answer this first"

"Go a head"

"Oh?"

"Where are you? i'll wait you here in the lobby, we'll go shopping" I nearly face slapped myself with what she said.

This b.i.t.c.h is a shopaholic.

"Be there in ten" then I dropped the call.

I look back to see Eoghan,

"gotta go, my cousin needs me"

What a joke audelia, need? really?lol

"Alright, let me set you off" immediately, i shove my hand,  asign of protest.

"No!"  that's too loud! "I mean, no. No need"

"Sure?"

"Yes"  after that i run. Okay, that was wrong and stupid but I already did it! ugh. whatever.

I was fast approaching the hospital lobby when I saw my cousin hugging someone.

I immediately stopped on my track.

Her smiling face looking at the guy like he's the only man in the world.

What the f.u.c.k? Who's that guy?

I look at him from head to toe, base on his outfit, he's a doctor, but too young to be a doctor so maybe an intern.

Flame's hand encircled around the guy's neck before finally letting go of him.

Then the guy patted her head. The moment he left , I fastly approached her.

"Who's that guy?"

"Oh s.h.i.+t!" my brows furrowed .

"Goodness! Don't scared me like that!"

I raise my brow.

"Who's that?"

She made a duck face. Eww.

"Someone" She said. Huh, someone?

Fine, I won't force her to talk about it.
