Tang Gon was resistant and the difficulty only made him want to resist more. However, the majesty of the area could not be taken down this easily. His thoughts along with his body were distracted. Calling out to the system was also made impossible by this area. Tang Gon, however, wasn't scared. This area felt sacred, but not in the traditional sense of speaking as there was an air of mystique and money-making that could simply be felt.
Tang Gon knew that this area was not made to harm him and because of that, Tang Gon continued to resist with all his efforts. An hour later and Tang Gon was still resisting. A half-hour later, Tang Gon felt that the suppression was weakening. Another half-hour later, Tang Gon felt the resistance disappearing enough for him to take a step. This continued on for a few more hours with the suppression effects weakening every time Tang Gon resisted.
The suppression was really weakening and Tang Gon was actually able to progress and make several steps, one after the other, after several days of staying in this area. During this time, all pangs of hunger or thirst were nonexistent.
Although it sounded like a lot of time spent, it was only a few days and of those few days, Tang Gon was able to take 83 steps. The area around him was still blank and white with fog covering his field of sight. Just as Tang Gon took the 92nd step, he froze. The suppression was back and this time it was greater than ever. His determination instantly disappeared without thought.
Any form of resistance was naturally abandoned by the sight that appeared in front of Tang Gon. Several white steps leading upwards appeared in front of him. He could sense a giant building somewhere off in the distance, but the more steps he traveled, the thicker the fog became.
The fog continued to cover the area, growing thicker by the second. By the time, Tang Gon snapped into focus, the suppression disappeared. He had gotten back free mobility of his arms, but an invisible wall prevented him to go forward.
Tang Gon was able to walk back and look around the area he already traveled to, but the majestic palace and the stairs leading up to it were past the invisible barrier. At the same time, the path that he was walking on glowed with a faint blue light. Markings on the path appeared and at the same time, rows of markings glowed in uniform rows and columns.
Tang Gon approached one of the nearest glowing blue markings on the ground and the second he approached it, the markings glowed green. The next second, the outline on the ground rose and formed a rectangular box.
It was similar to the interface designed by the system with gamelike slots. The only difference between the two was that the box only had outlines and the grids for slots only appeared when he touched the screen. The slots were sadly empty, but considering the large amount of storage s.p.a.ce Tang Gon had just received, it was more than acceptable.
This was only one of the blue markings on the ground and considering the distance he has traveled along with the number of markings as far as the eye could see, Tang Gon had truly gained an infinite storage s.p.a.ce. This was amazing, but there was a lot more than just that.
The storage s.p.a.ce and the gridlike chests were only the entrance area of the Storage Room. There was still the steps leading up and. the large building on top of those steps. Just imagine what else could be in this storage area. He had only walked for a few days, but there were many more steps ahead of him.
Just imagine all of the functions the system had in store for him. The only problem was that he was unable to reach the top of those stairs. Based off of his guesses and testing of the system, Tang Gon believed that it was a matter of strength or something else that directly corresponded to Tang Gon's growth.
Tang Gon looked across the horizon and the markings on the ground were endless. Everywhere he looked, the markings would glow. Even though the area was bright, the glows were brighter. Tang Gon wanted to see if there were truly nothing inside the chests and decided to go look at a few more.
Making up his mind, Tang Gon spun around and chose a direction before running off as fast as he could. This felt a lot freer as there was no longer any form of oppression that was pressuring him down on the ground. From time to time, Tang Gon would check a chest.
The chest would rise and turn green before Tang Gon searched, but because everything was shown in grids, searching didn't take long.
Tang Gon was completely tired after searching through so many chests. This was the best way to describe these storage s.p.a.ces, chests. How else could you call it?
Regardless of the events, he had enough with the endless s.p.a.ce and the lack of response from the system. It was too quiet and there really was nothing he could do here that he hadn't already done.
He tried summoning and talking to the system, but the summoning failed and the system didn't respond. Before long, Tang Gon returned back to the entrance of the stairs.
"Why are there so many storages" shrieked Tang Gon. It was starting to get annoying and too complicated. The area was way too large and returning to the entrance had also taken a lot of his time. There had to be an easier way of traveling. Sadly this option was not open to him as of right now. This will be a different story well into the future.
But as of right now Tang Gon opened another chest and once again the empty grids revealed that the storage container was empty. This was probably the hundredth chest that he had checked and of those hundredth, every single one was empty.
"Aghhhhh. I give up, how is it possible that there is nothing inside any of the chest? Why is life so cruel to me? No, I will not give up, one more time then I will give up!"
Tang Gon looked around him and at all of the chests that he had already searched through. Of course, once the chests were searched and Tang Gon left their vicinity, the chest went back into the ground and became markings again. Because of this, there was no way for Tang Gon to tell which one he had already searched.
Tang Gon approached a random chest nearby and hesitantly approached it before looking at the grids.
Silence filled the area before it was disrupted.
"Hahaha Haha"
The grids were empty. What else did he expect? The system was his prize and he had dared to think of any more. This was gluttony at its finest, but who was Tang Gon? Tang Gon is the chosen host made by the system and after a good cry, he felt better.
The chest that he peered his head into was truly empty and no matter how much he wailed, this fact would not change no matter what. This was a seemingly endless field, sadly the storage room was empty and repeating this fact only made him sadder.
Deciding that it was time, Tang left the fields of storage chests and returned to the main field. This wasn't too hard as the field somehow always led to the main path. There was nothing magical about it, but because of the way it was designed, it could be called magical.
The trip, unlike his previous explorings, did not take that long as he managed to quickly return to the entrance of the field and unlike before Tang Gon was able to hear the system. Or rather he was able to interact with the functions of the system that were previously closed to him during the suppression and the following days after it.
Knowing that it was now the time to go, Tang Gon no longer hesitated and yelled happily to the System, "I am done with your tutorial! Now take me out and set me free!"
A few seconds pa.s.sed and nothing happened. The surroundings were similarly quiet and without noise. Tang Gon was starting to get annoyed and just as he was about to yell at the system once more, it responded.
[Ding! Exiting the Spiritual Dwelling]
The white light covered Tang Gon and prepared to carry him out of the area.
In the meantime, Tang Gon was still thinking about the notification that the system just released. Spiritual Dwelling, what a place. He was happy to leave and glad that he would no longer be in this strange place, but it was still weird just leaving like this.
