It has been a while since she uses an outfit so elegant as it is now. It's a one-piece that fully covered her body all the way to the bottom, a frilly one at that. Combined with sparkling white heels and warmly white gloves, it's like she has become a model for a n.o.ble priestess.
She's on her way to the dining hall with Sadrin following behind her. Sighing as she thought, 'Haa… why everyone treats me like a kid. Like, I get it that I'm childish sometimes, but they could've used a different way to, I mean SHE could've used another way to punish me instead of spanking me like a kid! I'm already 25 G.o.dd.a.m.n it, I know I'm still 21 now, but f.u.c.king still!! I should've accepted Mona's request.'
'Being adopted by her might've been a better option than this, and I can play the game all I want by now.'
Sadrin noticed her discomfort, she thought that it might be caused by the upcoming event. It has been a while since Siola dines with the family after all, and it was even before her transport to Desolated Sector.
They arrived at the Dining Hall, the grandfather along with her two parents is there waiting for her. Siola approach them and bowed.
The atmosphere around is awkward indeed, however, Siola swallowed it all and just sit at her seat beside her mother with her grandfather sitting on the right side of the table.
What was expected is an elegant yet extravagant dining dish. However, what came out of the door, what the maids brought, are indeed extravagant, but it does not capture the image of what the n.o.ble usually eat.
Couple stack of deep-fried chickens, French fries, almost all kinds of very much unhealthy food being served to the n.o.ble's dining table.
'This…' Siola thought, 'Doesn't take a genius to understand what is going on."
All the food that's being served is all Siola's favorite. From all the folks inside, there is no one that would eat such unhealthy food, her grandfather would even say that it's disgusting.
She glanced at Yuri, her mother, 'She must be the one that requested this. Reaching out to what's left in our relations.h.i.+p. Mother, you're so naïve. No way in h.e.l.l, grandpa would eat something like this. Let alone touching it, he might throw it in the trashcan before even smelling it.'
Knowing that she's being glared at, Yuri quickly glanced down with a shattered heart. She expected that it would lessen the tension by using the food that Siola likes, but instead, it did the opposite.
No one in the room touched a piece of the meal being served, and no one is saying anything.
However, the unimaginable happens.
Hajaran, Siola's grandfather, put his fork and knife aside.
'See. Mother, you're really going to p.i.s.s off someone today. Heh, serves you right.'
Siola's grin grew wider at each step her grandfather makes his move. However, her grin soon faded when she saw her grandfather, the man that would even stomp unhealthy food without even eating it, now eating the said unhealthy food with his hands.
*Chomp*
'Huh?' she couldn't believe it.
Crunching noises can easily be heard from him, this leads Siola to drool her mouth out. She bit her lips hard, trying to suppress it.
Munching the thick and soft meat from it, he took a potato chip and eat it.
Yuri glanced at Siola who is in dazed and confused, she's staring at her grandfather joyfully eating the fried chicken while swallowing her saliva.
Her confusion starts to increase when her father makes his move and eat the chickens in the same way. 'What the h.e.l.l is going on here. Is this a part of her plan. Did she asked grandpa and father to eat those just so she—'
Her a.s.sumption was stopped when his grandfather swallowed a long gulp of his milkshake. "Pwah, that was— hm? Why are you not eating, Siola? Where are your manners!"
Shuddered by the sudden shout, "Ahwa, t-t-this, err…." Siola quickly grabbed a plate, but it was s.n.a.t.c.hed by Sadrin. She then quickly grabbed the food for her. Also, Sadrin has prepared the fork that Rakuri gave her.
"Here it is, young miss."
"Mm." Siola nodded.
Holding the chicken up, 'I can't believe this.'
Nervously moving it closer to her mouth, her lips trembled as she put it right an inch away from that crunchy texture. Her eyes quickly widened as the scent of the chicken spice went to her lungs. She opened her mouth wide and take a big bite of that chunk of chicken meat.
*Crunch *Crunch
'HHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! W-W-What is this!! This, this is, f.u.c.kING DELICIOUS!'
A smile was formed in Yuri's face knowing that her daughter enjoyed the food she wholeheartedly made.
Over the past years, Siola has never tasted her cooking due to the drama that was going on between them. Yuri has polished her skills in many ways to improve her relations.h.i.+p with her daughter, which includes her cooking skills.
Ever since Siola left, she has been depressed and starts making things that Siola likes, including the clothes that she's wearing right now. Seeing her daughter being like that, Hajaran tries to lessen her pain and started eating the food she's unconsciously made.
To his surprise, the food was not bad at all. Far from that instead, it's delicious. He and his son, Kikojei, grew fond of it and the food she made has become one of their favorites.
Several Minutes Later
…
*gulp*
*gulp*
*Pwah*
Siola's energy returned to 100%, it might even reach the point of overload. 'Good G.o.d, can't believe I actually ate all that. So freakin' good!' she giggled to herself.
"Did you like it?" Yuri asked.
Her giggling put to a stop when she heard Yuri's voice. She only glanced and quickly ignored her. This felt like a gla.s.s being shattered by a hammer for Yuri.
Though Siola's eyes wander a bit too much as it turns away, they suddenly met Hajaran, and he is not pleased by what he has seen.
"How long are you going to be this childish, Siola?"
She glanced down and avoid answering him.
"A Mithra always solved their problem with ease, calm, and will to succeed. You never even tried to solve this drama you brought upon yourself, and you even blamed it on others."
"…"
"Tell me, Siola. Do you even remember… what has caused all this?"
Her eyes widened as quickly as she lifted her head, facing her grandfather's eyes. She doesn't know how to answer, 'What do you mean, of course, I remember. It was because that b.i.t.c.h told Rosa to take MY f.u.c.king fiancé! What else is there, she even orchestrated for me being kicked out of college and worse, she even made Rosa turns against me!!'
All these things in her mind, she wants to get it all out. However, when her grandfather asked that question. It raises doubt in her mind.
"… I see. So, you are not yet ready to go back to Society."
"W-Wait, I-I… I…" trembling because of fears, this might be the only chance she has to get back up in the ladder and quite possibly leave the house. Yet, she couldn't muster up anything to answer him.
"…" Hajaran sighed, "I supposed the little Mithra that I know of has long gone, huh. Yuri, take her to her room. I've heard enough."
Bright sparkles appeared in Yuri's eyes, "Yes, father."
She reached out to grab Siola's shoulder, but when the spiders start crawling up her spine, Siola was about to shove her hand away and screamed.
"Don't—"
However, it was cut when Sadrin grabbed the other.
Siola's face hardened. She lowered her hand and let her mother took her. Sadrin stayed behind and with a smile on her face, she saw the child she raised finally listened to her.
Kikojei has also left the room.
"You really think there is still yet hope?" asked Hajaran.
"…" Sadrin responded, "When she returned home, I saw nothing resembles the Siola that we know, it was like… she has become a completely different person. One that we should not have."
"…"
"However, for the past several days. I saw a glimmer of her light again, it was the same when she s.h.i.+nes back in the day. The child that is full of potential and make us proud to have her as Mithra. I've seen it, even if it's only smithereens of it. Siola is still there."
"…" Hajaran didn't respond. However, his lips tilted up with his heart comfortably reaching warmth.
