Large number of draugr are swarming the area however, the plan for their escape is none other than going head in and fight their way out.
*Fwoosh*
Kurira slides underneath a skeleton and then flip around to smash its head with the wooden club. It staggered, but she didn't stop. Kurira went to bash it again with her s.h.i.+eld and pin it to the ground, and then smashed it again.
*Brakk*
Its bones quickly detached itself from its body and scattered on the floor.
"f.u.c.k, this is h.e.l.la weird. I've been using a VM all this time, it takes a while for me to get used to this... human body. I need to amp up my stamina later on, these legs are getting heavy."
*crack *crack *crack
She noticed something coming her way, she propelled herself to the back and saw a draugr holding up his sword in the air. She dashed closer and when the draugr swing it down, she holds her s.h.i.+eld up and bashed its head.
Because of the nature of Plank s.h.i.+eld, she can't risk herself getting an injury from parrying by using it. Kicking him away, she delivers another blow with her club right to his head.
*Bam!*
It quickly staggered. A shadowy appearance suddenly pa.s.sed through and then do roundhouse with a staff, crus.h.i.+ng the draugr's head.
It was none other than Rakuri. "Beh, I forgot that you can't kill steal in this game."
"Hey, you're supposed to be in the back."
"Like h.e.l.l I would let you have all the fun. Step back, b.i.t.c.h." Rotating her staff around rapidly, she chanted her [Fire Creation] spell and created a trail of flames on her feet and imbued her staff with it. Das.h.i.+ng towards the front not so fast, no so slow either, she bashed another skeleton's head and burn it aflame.
All this time, Siola has been staying in the back. It is part of her playstyle that she only moves when necessary. Her, along with the other 3 people from another group are providing supports. 2 other ones are mage while the other is an archer.
"Hey there, you're not going with your friends?" asked the archer, "Want to group with us? We need one more support on our team."
Siola glanced. Seeing the man that is inviting her... make her sick, he reminded her of her past fiancé. "No." she responded.
"But that's, your cla.s.s not match good with them, you know? Especially with the latest update, that templar's heal will damage you. We have an Acolyte on our team. How about it?"
Acolyte, masters of dark magic. It can be said that it's a priest for the evil part of the man, though the reason people using it is not because of healing, but because Acolyte holds the second strongest potency in terms of dark-related ability. The first one is a unique cla.s.s which is Hex user, though no one actually knows what cla.s.s it was, only knowing that the magic they used is called Hex.
She ignored him and walked toward her group. The archer's expression hardened knowing that he just got rejected flat with no second thought. The archer paid a numerous sum to the game for the ability to reconfigure his face even prettier and to recruit many members to his guild, yet he still can't even invite someone his age to the group.
The two mages glanced at her, "Just ignore her, Lex. Sooner or later, she'll beg to join us."
"Yeah, I mean just look at her. A Necromancer, I bet she won't even past level 20 in a year. Noob like her is not worth it."
The archer only nodded at them and went to tend his own business.
A group or a party is limited to only 6 members, the other 3 people are another party of their own. With Siola's group, there is a total of 12 people including the guy that a.s.sisted them to escape.
The archer's group, one of them, the Acolyte is staring at Kurira. Not because of how gorgeous she is, but…
*BANG *BANG *BANG
Smas.h.i.+ng a draugr's head with her s.h.i.+eld repeatedly, she raised her club even higher and smashed it again. The Acolyte watching all of it unfolded is making her stomach grumbling in disgust, "What the h.e.l.l. I get that it's not dead yet, but… she's a lady, come on... at least, be a little…"
*BANG *BANG *BANG *BAM
*Crack*
Completely turning its head around, Kurira managed to defeat it. However, because of the nature of the system. She can't get her exp and loot yet, they need to finish the battle until there is no enemy left standing.
Turning her head around, she saw Siola approaching her.
"Just in time. This one got good stats, think you can up him?"
Siola looked at the corpse for a moment, and then responded, "Sure."
Looking at the two conversings, the Acolyte wonders what they're talking about. Shortly after, she got her answer. When Siola moved her hands, raising her palm as she grasped the air above the skeleton, purple dark energy starts forming. Soon after, it seeps through the slope of the draugr's armor and then turned into black smoke.
The acolyte's eyes widened as she witnessed the draugr is floating up in the air and stood menacingly between them, she saw the two smiling. "Hunh, impossible. She's not even level 1 yet, how can she got the stats to raise that thing?!"
"Hana! What are you doing, another wave is coming!"
"Ah" startled by her teammate's shout, she quickly holds her ground and joins them. While left thinking, 'She's gotta be a smurf. Dammit, I thought Lex said he would invite her in. Why is she still not with us now? What a waste.'
Siola is holding some kind of transparent dark orb in her hand, thinking, '4 Intelligence, 16 Faith. Good thing the draugr's level wasn't too high. d.a.m.n, Necromancer is really bad. Almost can't even ressed level 5 and I need a f.u.c.king corpse to get a summon.'
Looking intensely in the eye-less undead, 'Cost 400 health to ressed you. Time limit too' with a face full of anger, she mumbled to him, "Go and kill yourself for me."
Even with a command so dark, the draugr nodded willingly. Unsheathing his sword, he went to join Rakuri in the front. Sighing, Siola then follows Kurira from behind.
"Don't be like that, I'm sure you'll find a use for it later. I don't know if it's correct or not, but back then I used to see a lot of people start getting into Necromancy."
"Haa… that was just because some rich douce got a rare Insight for it. Just imagine having to spend health to activate spells. It's one thing for skills."
A Necromancer is one of the rarest cla.s.ses ever played in Ekolia. The progression for leveling is slow, the rank up is limited, but one thing that's good about it is that it works for people that are playing solo and not having friends to party around. Just like the Author that made this novel.
s.h.i.+fting the attention back to Rakuri, she's storming down in cloak of flame against the wave of the skeleton alongside the guy that invites them, "Hoho, you're good, traveler. Where did you learn that moves?" he asked.
"Place you don't want to be."
The guy quickly faded to dust and reappeared behind a draugr's back.
*Slash*
Slicing its rotting throat like cutting chicken, "Heh, I like it already."
The other two groups are trying hard to catch up to them, "What the h.e.l.l are those NPCs, dude. They're too OP!!"
"s.h.i.+t, that woman is from another party, man. Hurry up, they're all going to hog all the exp!"
*Bam *Clink *Clank *Slash
The reason for them being so hasty and inpatient is that, when they leave this place, there won't be much chance for them to level up freely before hitting level 20. So, all of them are trying to get enough exp just for that purpose.
The tank bashed away the staggered draugr and deliver a huge blow with a club on his head.
*BAKG*
His eyes widened, that was the sound of a critical. "Haha, you're mine!" a draugr has higher exp than a normal skeleton, of course, when one managed to defeat it, they would sing a song of joy.
Though when he was about to deliver the final blow, another draugr pa.s.sed by and stole it from him. Slicing the draugr's head off from his body. "What the f.u.c.k?!!"
He soon rushed toward a wave of undead alone, the tank was confused, he turned to his teammates, "Hey, did you see that?"
Unfortunately, his mates are busy with their own business and they can't hear him.
Looking back, he found one member of another party is holding a smoky orb. "A Necromancer? What, but this is… how?"
"MALEK, watch your f.u.c.king front!!"
His eyes quickly widened as he turned around. "Mmmphf!" Bad timing of the use of a skill can impact greatly in battles. He forgot that the [Taunt] that he used was still in effect. The three skeletons that were rus.h.i.+ng towards him managed to land a blow.
They all swarming above him and beating him down repeatedly with their bony fists. It is quite ironic since he has the guardian cla.s.s. It is crucial for a guardian to not let their guard down because that will impact the team's performance by a huge margin.
Luckily, his team is a tad bit better than most. They managed to save him, one of them reaches out their arm, "You're okay?"
Nodded in disbelief, he can't fathom that he made a mistake on his first day. "Sorry."
"Don't sweat it, come on."
*Tak*
He took his arm and stood up. Heavy emotion weighted his heart, he doesn't want to let his teammates down, "Won't happen again."
The warrior smiles, "Heh, we're counting on you."
With their spirits gone back up, they continued their fights against the skeleton.
...
*Bang *bang-bang *BAM!
Amidst the sea of players and undead, the groups that followed that man arrived under enormous an multi-colored tree. It is linked up to the ceiling which is hundreds of meters away with many flying enemies circling around it. They simply watch and none of them are attacking, except the one that is stupidly engaging them.
One of the tanks from before rested his back, "Ngh." Blood spilling out of his gut, one of the draugrs got the best of him when they tried to escape down the stairs.
"Hey, don't move too much" turning around to the other group, "Anyone got a heal? Please, help my friend. He's injured."
No one is responding, except a member from the archer's group, "Sorry, dude. We need that heal too." he basically told him that the group has healers, but doesn't want to share it. "Come on, man. I'll pay you guys. 50 bucks."
The group chuckled. "Hah, what do 50$ gets us these days. Let's be real here… nothing."
The man gritted his teeth, but he didn't retaliate. He knows full well that the group has no obligation to help them, they are after all… a stranger.
He turned to the other group, Siola's group, and then asked them for help. "Hey, do you guys have healing? I'll pay, just please heal my friend."
The three glanced at him and the s.h.i.+fted to the dying tank. Rakuri then asked, "Can you share Exp? Around 5k?" the man's eyes widened, "What for?"
"You can or not?"
His expression turned sour. At this stage of the game, 5k matters a lot. It's a quarter way to level 20. But he also knew that his friend's live matter's most right now. They promised to play with each other for a long time. Saving up money enough to buy the consoles, their timing comes pretty badly when the devs updated the game right after they bought it.
"All right, 5k. Anything else? I got some good loot from the battle, just tell me what you want."
None of them showing any interest, "Just Exp."
Rakuri lifted her arm, reaching for a handshake. The man is nervous, giving away such large amount of Experience Points at the start of the game is never a good thing. He takes her arm and then send her the Exp she wanted.
A grin quickly formed on her face. Because of how cunning her expression is, the man quickly a.s.sumed that he just got tricked, but then she turned around and signaled her friend.
The templar.
At a starter rank, the cla.s.s has no healing abilities, but when she approached his friend. He noticed that the templar is using [Healing Hands] on him. This led him to believe that the templar has another cla.s.s with her.
"All done. Careful now, don't push yourself too hard" said Kurira.
The tank nodded, "I can't give anything right now, but when we meet again, I'll be sure to repay this debt."
"Ohh, don't worry, hon. Your friend there already paid."
He glanced at his friend, and saw him smiling. "Even so, thank you."
Kurira smiled and then went back to her group. She learned the group's name, they are still nameless, but its members, she knows. The tank is called Honda Malek, the warrior is called Kosumba, while the Bard that stays silent all this time is called Akari.
Without a doubt, it's their real name. Sharing such private information to others meaning they trusted her and Siola's group enough to share it. Though it is only luck that they shared it with them, had it been anyone else. The result would be ugly.
As Kurira walked towards her group again, she glanced at the other group, and when the archer guy met her eyes. She formed a smirk, "Heh."
Annoyed by her att.i.tude, his face hardened.
