Slowly, he pressed his bony fingers, rubbing against the center of the book. The book is glowing for a moment but faded shortly after.

He's opening it carefully, gazing upon it for a while

I can feel his voice stutter as he speaks further

The flames are dancing as his finger moves, it formed into many kinds of shape; from a human, monster, ancient beings and many more.

I kept silent and listen to his every word, my body trembled. I can feel his emotion, Desperation, Anger… Regret.

While closing his book, he sighed. And he gave it back to the Skeleton; it carefully holding it in his arm again.

Looking down, I kept my mouth shut. I don't what how to respond to that, the story is too complex for me since it's not finished.

But somehow, a tiny portion of me think that it was… cruel.

'The mighty being or whatever… just who is it…' is what stuck in my mind

He spoke, "Do you know the reason… why did it happen to us? What is the mighty being are up to, why did they send you?"

Before looking back at him I spoke nervously, "W-Why are you asking me?"

Looking back up to me

"Tell me, Mortal", staring at me in the eye, "Are you… also going to kill us too?"

Closing my eyes.

I spoke, "Yes"

The Undead in the room suddenly turned their heads onto me, and something else slowly popping out of the floor, the wall, and the ceiling.

I can feel it… there is something big on the other side of those… shadow.

The Lich eyes turn Black but it's glowing brightly like the moon.

"Will you… also going to kill me?"

There is something eerie coming from the back of my neck.

I can feel it… something really sharp is creeping around my neck... something truly horrifying. But I muster up my courage and speak again, "No"

"You… scared?"

I know that I'm in a quite difficult situation but if you are asking if I'm scared or not, the answer is...

"No"

His voice started to crack, it is so painful to hear him talking, it's as if a dying man trying to speak in his last breath.

Paused by his question, I clenched my fist as I open my eyes, looking at him right in the eye.

I spoke
