Haruno was a little stunned by the new possibilities, but he still went to sleep for now. After the rain stopped, he woke up and saw Sabo looking at the hollow tree with a serious expression. He then asked: "Sabo... What are you doing?" Sabo looked at him and asked: "Yo! Haru, what do you think?" Haruno went beside the kid before looking at the tree and saying: "Yes, it would be a good place to make a secret base!" Sabo nodded and said: "We should prepare the base! Come and help me!" Haruno chuckled and said: "Yes, but I will need a place to cook... Maybe in the base of the tree." 

Haruno then helped Sabo as he drew the improvised kitchen's plan. While they were drawing the plans, Ace and Luffy woke up and Sabo showed to them his project of base and said: "Look!" Haruno showed his project of a kitchen, he needed some utensils and an oven... fireplace. Ah! A cutting table too. Then Luffy asked: "What is this?" Sabo smiled and said: "Haru and I planned our base! We can't sleep every night outside, right?" Haruno smiled as well and added: "So that's why we will construct our secret base right here!" Luffy said: "Secret base... So cool!" then Ace asked: "And the materials?" 

Sabo looked at Ace and said: "Well, there are some in that place..." Haruno smiled and added: "Grey Terminal!" they headed toward the grey terminal to gather materials for the construction of their secret base. When they arrived, Ace and Sabo started to search for wood planks and Luffy for a hammer. Haruno called Qwuoro and asked him to search for nails, kitchen utensils and ropes. After a few hours, they gathered the wood planks with the other things that the rats gave them and headed toward the tree that will be their base to a.s.semble everything.

Every day, they worked on their base and when they needed to, they went to the grey terminal to gather materials. During the first two days, they worked on the foundation of their base. Haruno helped using his Ak.u.ma no Mi to transport the materials where they were needed, so he was the most tired one. Luffy used his Ak.u.ma no Mi and stretched his arms to help Haruno transport some planks as well. 

In the original series, they took two weeks to construct their base, but with Haruno's help, they only took eight days to build it! Their base was almost the same as what he remembered seeing, with a few small differences... The biggest one is that the base of the tree has an improvised kitchen inside now and that their flag that was just "ASL" is now "ASLH" in this world.

It currently was dusk, Haruno was cooking a deer that Ace, Sabo, and Luffy had hunted. He used some salt and pepper,  making a deer meat soup with vegetables. When Luffy, Sabo, and Ace felt the sweet and delicious aroma in the air, they rushed toward the kitchen and found the dish being prepared. Luffy looked at the vegetables and sullenly asked: "Why vegetables?" Ace grabbed one and threw it in the air. Instantly, Haruno opened a portal where the vegetable was going to fall and opened the exit in Ace's mouth. Haruno looked at him and said: "You need to eat vegetables as well, you two!" after saying his piece, he gives a bowl of rice to each of them and added: "Eat. You can repeat if you want to."

Luffy grabbed the bowl of rice and ate the whole thing in one bite then asked: "More!" Haruno laughed and said: "Yes! Here." That night went very well. The following week, they started to install traps and Dadan found where their secret base was. 

Seasons pa.s.sed and winter arrived. Ace, Sabo, and Luffy were hunting danpas (panda bears ) while Haruno was removing their fur in the base. He also sent a white owl to go and watch over them. In the forest, Ace shouted: "Sabo! He's going toward him! Don't let our prey escape!" Sabo shouted: "Got it!" they ran behind the danpa until it arrived at the bay, where Luffy was waiting in ambush. 

Sabo looked upward and shouted: "Luffy! Be prepared!" up in the bay, Luffy who was waiting for them said: "He is here!" he jumped off the cliff and declared: "Here I go!" just before his punch hit the danpa, he once more declared: "You won't run!" Luffy defeated the danpa! he shouted: "I got him!!" Sabo smiled and said: "Good work Luffy!" Ace chuckled and said: "We now have two of them! We're going to have danpa soup tonight!" Haruno smiled as he saw this scene through his skill [Shared Vision]. He opened an entrance portal near his mouth and an exit near his owl's forehead and said: "Good work Luffy!" Luffy looked behind himself and saw the owl flying and smiled. He shouted: "Haru-kun! Did you see that!?" The owl landed on his head and Haruno's voice was heard: "Yes, I saw everything! It was amazing!" Ace and Sabo were looking at Luffy and the owl. Sabo spoke: "It is amazing that Haru can see and talk to us using an owl..." Ace nodded and said: "Well, he is an Ak.u.ma no Mi user..." Luffy was dancing around the danpa's corpse singing: "I got him! I got him! I got one for the first time!" Haruno then felt that something was wrong. He made the owl look toward the bay. Upward, there, a giant tiger was looking at the danpa's corpse...

Sabo was the second one to notice that something was wrong, he looked at where the owl was looking and saw the giant tiger. He panicked a bit and hurriedly said: "Look! There!" he paused and shouted: "Luffy! Behind you!" Luffy, with a confused expression, looked behind himself and said: "Behind...? A big tiger!" Luffy looked at the tiger while the tiger stared at the danpa that Luffy was stepping on. Ace explained: "He wants the danpa's body!" Sabo shouted: "Luffy! Get away! He just wants the danpa!" The tiger jumped down from the cliff and landed beside the danpa's corpse as Luffy shouted: "This is my trophy! I won't let him have it!" Haruno's voice came from the owl, shouting: "He is stronger than you for now! Get the h.e.l.l out of there!" Luffy said: "No! Go away! Idiot!" the tiger licked Luffy before punching him, making Luffy's body fly away. The owl on Luffy's head recoiled as well.
