Chapter 1723: The Winner Hasn't Been Announced Yet

Boom!

A deafening sound reverberated from the platform, rocking the entire arena. Those with a cultivation stage below the Sovereign Plane felt like they were about to lose their lives just from the pressure coming from the explosion. They weren't even the one it was aimed at, yet they could sense the threat it posed.

Ezekiel looked at the explosion and his heart sank, at the moment, whenever he recalled the face of Grey, all he could feel was fear. He dreaded Grey, he didn't want to have any encounter with such a freak.

'Are there more like him?'

This was the question in not that Ezekiel's head, but a lot of people's heads as well. Of Grey's entourage, other than Keith, no one else put up any spectacular performances. However, no one is thinking about that at the moment, the reason for that is that, Grey, one of the outsiders who they didn't think much of has shattered their worldview, showing them that even outsiders could be more brilliant than them, people privileged to cultivate with the aid of an essence vein.

A defensive s.h.i.+eld had been raised to protect the audience. Anyone below the Peak of the Ninth stage wouldn't be able to withstand the impact of both attacks colliding. Grey's attack alone is enough to threaten a regular Ninth stage Sovereign, adding Vale and his companion's combined attack to it, the force it generated was ma.s.sive.

Lord Dante reacted quickly, rus.h.i.+ng to the aid of Vale and his companion who could only watch as the explosion covered them. They could tell that this was most likely their last moments before they die from this dreadful attack. A spatial tear has once again reappeared, but this time, it was almost double the size of the previous one.

The Elder in charge of the platform reacted at the same time as Lord Dante, he rushed to the spatial tear, forcefully sealing it. He turned to try to rescue Grey since both Vale and his companion had been taken away. On turning to Grey's side, just as he strected his hands in Grey's direction, his eyes fell on Grey's figure and he was shocked. Grey, was in the middle of the explosion, his body glowing with a bright silver light, looking properly, he saw that Grey had grown scales on his body, and even his pupils had turned into that of a Dragon. He retreated as Grey was doing fine.

A minute later, and the explosion died down with the help of the Elder in charge of the platform. And standing in the middle of a ruined platform, Grey's figure could be seen standing as straight as an arrow. It was as if he didn't go through this supposedly life threatening encounter. He was back to his normal state, hiding his Dragon scales.

Seeing the state of the platform, everyone sucked in a deep breath. A platform strong enough to contain attacks of a Ninth stage Sovereign and still be left unscathed has been left in rumbles by the impact of the attack. There were three platforms in the arena, and Grey and his opponents were using the one in the middle. However, all three platforms have been turned to rubbles.

Among everyone present, there is a group of people who could feel their bodies still shaking just as they looked at the platform. Normally, even while others were fighting, those who had gotten a spot or haven't been challenged yet would be on one platform. Luckily, they were told to leave by the Elder in charge when Grey was about to use his first fusion orb.

The four colored fusion orb was already enough for them to know that they shouldn't even be there, seeing the five colored fusion orb, they didn't even want to step back on the platform, and at the moment, there was no platform left for them to even stand on.

Grey stood in the middle of the rubble, his eyes focused on the Elders' area. When the explosion erupted, the expected spatial tear didn't happen, neither did he sense the presence of Vale and his companion. Someone stepped in, and looking at things, he might've gone a bit overboard.

"I'm sorry for destroying your arena." He said in the direction of the Elders' area.

A figure appeared before him, the figure looked frail, but none present will dare to think of this figure as frail. Lord Dante, despite being a very old man, isn't someone anyone would dare to look down on.

"Kid, you almost cost me two talents." Lord Dante spoke to Grey, and his tone was a bit annoyed. The truth is, he wasn't annoyed at Grey, he just didn't like the fact that two people who are considered among the top Seventh stage Sovereigns and would even become Eighth stage Sovereigns once they go for another secluded training almost lost their lives in a compet.i.tion with Grey.

"I went a bit overboard." Grey said, he looked at Lord Dante and added, "Besides, I know there's no chance an expert such as yourself will allow anyone die, at least not under your watch."

Hearing Grey's words, Lord Dante gave him a deep look.

'Smart.' He thought internally. Naturally, he wouldn't allow anyone die under his watch, but he didn't think that Grey took that into account while battling, hence the reason he used such a devastating attack.

Lord Dante didn't speak with Grey any further, he looked at the crowd and then at the s.h.i.+eld that had cracks on it and sighed, "The compet.i.tion is suspended for the rest of the day. Tomorrow we'll continue."

Just as Lord Dante was about to step off the platform, Grey cleared his throat to gain his attention. He turned to Grey, a brow raised questioningly.

Grey had a shy expression on his face as he said, "Sir, the winner hasn't been announced yet."

Grey's mannerism as he said this was completely different from what he has been showing all this while. It was as if he was a different person.

Lord Dante didn't expect Grey to stop him cause of this, and when he thought about it, the winner truly hadn't been announced.

P.S: Please read author's note :) I can't add it here since it'll increase the word count, making the prices of the chapter higher.
