Chapter 7

Finally Reaching Home!

“d.a.m.n it! Does this d.a.m.n dog want to die?”

w.a.n.g Mang could not help but curse in his heart.

Then, w.a.n.g Mang tried to shake off the dog’s pursuit and quickly crawled into a cornfield.

At the same time, w.a.n.g Mang faintly heard a young man’s voice. “Big Yellow! Big Yellow~! Come back quickly~”

However, what exasperated w.a.n.g Mang was that he had already entered the cornfield, yet this big yellow dog still chased after him recklessly.

Furthermore, the commotion in the distance also told w.a.n.g Mang that the boys who were fis.h.i.+ng for eels and loaches were also rus.h.i.+ng over.

“Since you want to die, don’t blame me!”

w.a.n.g Mang made up his mind and turned his giant head around. He arched his two-meter-tall head and stared coldly at the big yellow dog.

Clearly, the big yellow dog was also frightened by w.a.n.g Mang’s huge body. It did not dare to rush towards w.a.n.g Mang recklessly. Instead, it bared its teeth fiercely at w.a.n.g Mang from a few meters away and let out a low growl, “Grr… Woof!”

Not only that, when it saw that w.a.n.g Mang did not attack, the big yellow dog became much bolder.

It approached carefully, baring its teeth at w.a.n.g Mang and letting out a low warning.

By now, w.a.n.g Mang knew that he had to kill the big yellow dog. Otherwise, he would be exposed!

Therefore, when the reckless big yellow dog entered his attack range, w.a.n.g Mang immediately opened his terrifying mouth and pounced forward.

It was so fast that even the big yellow dog could not react in time.

w.a.n.g Mang opened his mouth and bit Big Yellow’s neck.

Then, w.a.n.g Mang’s huge body immediately bou around it, not giving the mutt any time to react.

Soon, he had the big yellow dog’s body all wrapped up. The big yellow dog could not help but let out a pained cry. “Whinee~!”

w.a.n.g Mang could even vaguely hear the sound of bones breaking coming from Big Yellow’s body.

Unfortunately, w.a.n.g Mang did not stop there. After crus.h.i.+ng the big yellow dog’s bones, he swallowed it whole.

At the same time, the system’s voice sounded again.

[Ding! Congratulations, Host, you have devoured a mutt! You have obtained 85 evolution points!]

After hearing the system’s voice, w.a.n.g Mang did not care. Instead, he quickly slithered away from the corn forest.

Just then, outside the cornfield, the three young men looked at the cornfield in fear, not knowing what to do.

They had heard Big Yellow’s cry from the cornfield as well.

Nonetheless, they did not dare to act rashly. They knew that it was very likely that Big Yellow had provoked some unknown and ferocious creature.

Nonetheless, the creature that killed Big Yellow quickly was clearly not to be trifled with!

Therefore, they did not even have the courage to run into the cornfield, let alone save Big Yellow.

When Big Yellow’s screams disappeared and the cornfield gradually calmed down, the three young men looked at each other in panic and fear.

“What killed Big Yellow?” One of the young men gulped and asked in fear.

“I don’t know. I’ll come and take a look during the day!”

“That’s right! We can’t defeat a creature that can kill Big Yellow so quickly even if it discovers us!”

“Let’s come back during the day! Let’s go back first!”

The other two youths shook their heads in fear.

After discussing for a while, the three of them went home.

In fact, they were so frightened that they did not even have the mood to catch any more eels.

Two hours later.

w.a.n.g Mang finally arrived at his grandmother’s house. It was right where he remembered it.

He looked up and saw that the house was still brightly lit upstairs.

This made w.a.n.g Mang even more excited.

After two months, he had finally returned!

w.a.n.g Mang suppressed his excitement and slithered into the courtyard.

However, as soon as w.a.n.g Mang approached, he heard a fierce bark. “Woof woof! Woof woof woof!”

“d.a.m.n it, Panther! I’m your master! Don’t you recognize me?”

w.a.n.g Mang was exasperated.

He raised his snake head and saw a stout Tibetan mastiff tied up outside the courtyard not far away!

Then, a miracle happened.

The originally fierce Panther was immediately stunned when it heard w.a.n.g Mang’s voice.

It tilted its huge head as it looked blankly at the giant creature in front of it.

Obviously, it was wondering why this python could speak.

Moreover, the voice emanating from the snake was its owner’s voice!

w.a.n.g Mang immediately realized that this Panther had clearly not forgotten his voice!

“Good boy, Panther! Quiet, boy!” w.a.n.g Mang was overjoyed, but he did not forget to issue Panther some orders.

The originally ferocious Panther immediately wagged its tail excitedly.

After Panther calmed down, w.a.n.g Mang wound his huge body into a ball and shouted excitedly towards the brightly-lit second floor, “Grandma! Grandma!”

When she heard w.a.n.g Mang’s call, Grandma, who was in the room on the second floor, thought that she was hallucinating.

After w.a.n.g Mang died, the old woman had been ill. His grandmother used to go out often, but now she never left her house. Her health was getting worse by the day.

w.a.n.g Mang did not know about any of this. When the old lady heard w.a.n.g Mang’s voice, she excitedly dragged her dying body downstairs, trembling as she went.

She even muttered to herself, “My grandson is back! My dear boy, Grandma is here. Grandma is right here…”

When the old lady arrived downstairs and opened the door, she looked into the darkness of the night blankly, calling out, “Mang’er, my boy!

“Mang’er! Grandma is right here!”

w.a.n.g Mang, who was hiding in the darkness, was instantly overcome with emotion. However, he was worried that he would scare the old lady if he went out now.

After a moment of silence…

w.a.n.g Mang looked at his elderly grandmother and said, “Grandma, I’m back, but I don’t dare to come out for fear of scaring you.”

His voice was not loud, but it made the old lady even more certain that the grandson she missed so dearly had really returned.

She grew even more agitated. “My boy, I’m not afraid. Come out quickly and let Grandma take a look at you…”

After a long silence, w.a.n.g Mang told his grandmother about everything that had happened to him.

Finally, in response to his grandmother’s loving calls…

w.a.n.g Mang finally slithered out of the darkness slowly.
