Chapter 8
Almost Scaring My Parents Witless!
As she looked at the huge creature in front of her, w.a.n.g Mang’s old grandmother was stunned for a long time.
Eventually, she raised her head and looked at w.a.n.g Mang. “Are.. Are you my grandson?”
“Grandma, it’s me.” w.a.n.g Mang nodded his large head.
“My boy, what happened to you? Did you become like this because your soul was eaten by a demon…?”
“Oh, what did our w.a.n.g family do to deserve this? How could you do this to my darling grandson…?”
The old woman’s voice trembled as she sobbed. She reached out her wrinkled hand and stroked w.a.n.g Mang’s huge body.
w.a.n.g Mang was struck speechless by his grandmother’s words.
Only then did he remember that his grandmother’s generation was much more accepting of these things than modern people would be.
Besides, the older generation was extremely superst.i.tious. They always believed that the G.o.ds were constantly watching them.
Therefore, it was much easier for w.a.n.g Mang to reunite with his grandmother than he had imagined.
w.a.n.g Mang said softly, “Grandma, at least I’m still alive!”
After hearing w.a.n.g Mang’s words, the old lady nodded. “Yes, you’re right. Why, you might even become a snake spirit in the future!”
“If you’re lucky enough to win the favor of an immortal, you might even become a deity one day!”
The thought of that possibility greatly improved the old lady’s mood. She affectionately stroked w.a.n.g Mang’s basin-sized head.
She looked at w.a.n.g Mang, who seemed extremely ferocious to outsiders, with nothing but love in her eyes.
No matter what her grandson turned into, he was still her beloved grandson.
w.a.n.g Mang did not call her out on her misunderstanding. So what if Grandma was being superst.i.tious? It did not matter as long as she was happy.
“Grandma, I want to see Mom and Dad,” w.a.n.g Mang said after some hesitation.
His grandma nodded her head repeatedly. “Yes, of course. I’ll tell your father right now.”
She trembled as she took out her phone and called w.a.n.g Mang’s parents.
After the call went through, w.a.n.g Mang did not say anything the entire time. He only listened excitedly to his father’s familiar voice on the phone.
Grandma simply said that she had something important to tell his parents and asked them to come home tomorrow. However, she did not mention anything about w.a.n.g Mang turning into a giant python.
After hanging up the phone, Grandma looked at w.a.n.g Mang and said, “My boy, come back to your room and get some sleep!”
w.a.n.g Mang smiled bitterly. “Grandma, there’s no need for that. I’ll sleep in the forest in the backyard!”
Grandma scolded him. “That won’t do!”
w.a.n.g Mang laughed dryly. “Grandma, I’ve already turned into a giant python. It’s not convenient for me to stay in the house.”
The old lady still firmly disagreed. “Nonsense! What if someone discovers you out here? What if they try to kill you?”
Helpless, w.a.n.g Mang could only relent. He curled up his huge body and slept in the second-floor room that used to be his.
Even after w.a.n.g Mang’s death, the old lady still kept w.a.n.g Mang’s things and daily necessities right where he left them out of a sense of nostalgia.
The furnis.h.i.+ngs in w.a.n.g Mang’s room were the same as usual, but there was no dust anywhere in the room. Clearly, his grandmother often came to his room to clean it.
After returning to his room, w.a.n.g Mang was filled with emotions. He finally felt the warmth of his former home.
After two months of living as a cold-blooded animal, w.a.n.g Mang had almost forgotten that he was once a human.
Fortunately, now that he had reunited with his family, he did not have to live like before.
Early the next morning.
Grandma personally cooked a few delicious dishes for w.a.n.g Mang to eat.
However, w.a.n.g Mang was exasperated to find that this food was completely unpalatable to him now.
Not only did his sense of taste reject his grandmother’s cooking, the food could not even provide him with any evolution points.
Therefore, w.a.n.g Mang had no choice but to tell his grandmother the truth. He said that he liked to eat live prey.
Grandma thought for a moment and felt that w.a.n.g Mang was right. How could a python eat rice?
Moreover, her grandson might even become an immortal in the future, right?
He was already a snake demon, after all!
That was right. In the old lady’s eyes, her grandson, w.a.n.g Mang, had already turned into a huge python, yet he could still speak human language. That clearly meant he was a snake demon.
Hence, the old lady thought for a moment and asked w.a.n.g Mang, “In that case, should I buy you some live chickens and ducks?”
w.a.n.g Mang immediately shook his head and said, “Grandma, it’s fine. I can go without food for a long time after eating. It won’t be a problem even if I don’t eat for half a month.”
Seeing that w.a.n.g Mang hurriedly refused, the old lady thought for a moment and did not force the matter. “Alright, my boy. When your father comes, I’ll talk to him.”
Hearing this, w.a.n.g Mang nodded. He still needed his father’s help to become stronger!
In the afternoon, w.a.n.g Mang’s parents arrived.
How did w.a.n.g Mang know?
He could hear the sound of a car approaching from miles away.
Through the window, w.a.n.g Mang saw his parents, who he had not seen for two months, walking over with some supplements.
Soon, Grandma went down to open the door.
When his parents walked into the room and saw the haggard old lady, they felt even guiltier.
Ever since their son pa.s.sed, the old lady had been depressed, her health deteriorating every day.
Yet for some reason, she made them rush back home today.
They knew that the old lady was not in good health, so they came back in a hurry.
“Mom, are you alright?” w.a.n.g Long asked worriedly, and so did Li Juan.
Hearing this, the old lady shook her head, looking at her son and daughter-in-law. She said slowly, “Go upstairs! My grandson wants to see you.”
Mr. and Mrs. w.a.n.g were stunned. They looked at the old lady in shock.
w.a.n.g Long could not help but worry. “Mom, don’t overthink things. If Mang’er were still alive, he would want nothing but the best for you.”
“Shut up! Of course I know that my grandson wants the best for me!” The old lady immediately scolded him, “You unfilial son, do you think I’m going senile?”
Mr. w.a.n.g, “???”
Mrs. w.a.n.g: “╯▽╰.”
They did not dare to say anything else and could only remain silent.
The lady explained everything to the two of them.
After hearing her story, Mr. and Mrs. w.a.n.g felt that she must be hallucinating.
She must be missing her grandson too much!
When she saw the looks on her son and daughter-in-law’s faces, how could the experienced old lady not know what they were thinking?
Trembling with anger, she grabbed a feather duster from the side and swung it at Mr. w.a.n.g’s head, cursing, “You… You unfilial son!”
At the same time, w.a.n.g Mang, who had heard the commotion, came out of his room and arrived at the railing on the second floor.
Looking at the familiar figures of his parents downstairs, w.a.n.g Mang suppressed the excitement in his heart and shouted at his parents downstairs, “Dad, Mom! Grandma was telling the truth.”
When they heard w.a.n.g Mang’s familiar voice, both Mr. and Mrs. w.a.n.g froze.
He was their son, after all. How could they forget his voice?
They even thought that they were hallucinating!
However, when Mr. and Mrs. w.a.n.g looked up, they saw a spine-chilling scene that almost scared them witless.
