Way To The Heavens 6 Chi Apprentice!

It was quiet and peaceful all night but then suddenly in the middle of a pitch black forest, a bright glowing light could be seen.

"Long Yue have you seen w.a.n.g Wei?" the person that asked this question was a beautiful woman it was, in fact, teacher Li Yun. "No, I haven't seen him. He's probably too embarra.s.sed to show his face today since I will be leaving him in the dust. Hehe," Long Yue replied with a bright smile on his face. All the girls that were going on the trip were mesmerized by him for a moment but only for a moment because his big smile disappeared as he saw w.a.n.g Wei. "Hey, Long Yue what happened to your smile?" w.a.n.g Wei snickered.

"w.a.n.g Wei, what are you doing here? Did you come to wish me good luck? That is so sweet of you. I promise that I will share the tales of my experiences when I come back." Long Yue said in a teasing tone. "Actually I came to join the expedition to the holy valley since I wanted a holy soul jewel to be my first soul jewel." w.a.n.g Wei said with a great smile. "Does that mean you….?" "Yes, I broke through to rank ten. I am now also a chi apprentice. I won't allow you to get that far ahead."

Ling Yun stood next to the two as she followed the conversation. "w.a.n.g Wei are you serious? Reaching rank ten with the red snake soul form in only six years and three months you are someone who defies logic. Anyway nice to have you on board we're departing in a few minutes go and gather with the rest."

"Yes, teacher." w.a.n.g Wei answered. He then joined his peers together with Long Yue. If one would look at the group of eleven-year-olds one could immediately see who were the more powerful children as the others would line up behind those. And of course, everyone in the group that would depart to the holy valley would stand behind w.a.n.g Wei and Long Yue as they were the two strongest students in the entire academy and possibly the entire city amongst their peers. Behind w.a.n.g Wei and Long Yue, everyone was almost equally strong so you wouldn't really see who would be the strongest after Long Yue and w.a.n.g Wei.

"Okay cla.s.s this expedition will last for three days if you haven't killed a soul beast and obtained a soul jewel by then, better luck next time. We will make no exceptions. When we leave, we all leave. Understood?" Li Yun said. "Understood!" the group of children said.

They then all got on a carriage and their travel started.

"Hey, w.a.n.g Wei." A boy called out. "Yes?" As w.a.n.g Wei turned around it turned out to be Lee Zheng. "We are supposed to kill a soul beast ourselves because otherwise, we aren't able to integrate the soul jewel. Aren't you a bit nervous?" he asked. "No, not really." w.a.n.g Wei replied. "I am not worried because I have my individual skills snake claws and defensive scale. That is why I am fairly confident in myself. I am actually hoping to get a yellow soul jewel."

Everyone on his carriage heard this and all cried out "yellow soul jewel?!"

"You do know that a beast that drops a yellow soul jewel is at least a thousand years old right? They are really powerful. I know you are powerful as well but shouldn't you go for an orange soul jewel. Those soul beasts are only a hundred years old and you'll still have a better soul jewel than most of us since we'll only go for the fifty-year-old soul beast and we will probably get a red soul jewel."

"I know what that means but I am aiming for the top of the world together with Long Yue and if I don't want to fall behind I will go for a yellow soul jewel because I know he will too. We will also be partic.i.p.ating in the inter-academy soul expert compet.i.tion and if we want to be noticed by prestigious academy we will have to stand out the most."

"I get that but a yellow soul jewel. Isn't that overkill? What if your spirit power is too little? I mean your spirit power is probably still in the spirit plains I mean there's no way your spirit powers are on the spirit country level right?"

"No we're not on that level yet but we are approaching it so our spirit domains are probably able to handle a yellow soul jewel." w.a.n.g Wei calmly replied. "By the way, I think you will probably be able to handle a light orange soul jewel. I don't know for sure but I get a certain feeling when I'm talking with you that you are halfway to the spirit country domain so I think you should try at least and if it is too much just try again another time. If you don't push yourself how do you hope to improve yourself?"

"You are pretty wise. How come I didn't notice it until now?" Lee Zheng said.

"Well, that's because I don't really talk to people. I only cultivate and practice martial arts. This right now is the longest time I have gone without any training since I started at the academy. I think it's the same for Long Yue. That's probably why."

"Everyone get off the carriages we're here!" Li Yun shouted.

As the kids got off all the carriages everyone found their friends pretty quick.

"Alright, everyone listen up." Li Yun said "You have the option of staying with me and the other teachers and we will help you get your first soul jewel or you can go out and explore for yourselves. I must say if you do this you can go further into the valley and you'll find stronger soul beasts. However, if you choose to go out yourselves we won't be able to help you." After she announced this the group of children split up the biggest part of the children stayed with the teachers and others were ready to leave there were I total thirty children who came along on the expedition and twenty-three choose to stay with the teacher among the seven who chose to explore on their own were of course w.a.n.g Wei and Long Yue.
